I have been healing on my pally. To be honest, it was mostly PVP, but then I have no idea why I decided to heal some heroics.
Proof I was healing! See the little plus sign!
Pain and suffering. We wiped on a couple of bosses, mainly because I was an idiot, like the eye balls – I got stunned and died. Then on Jaina when we had an extra pack and then on Murozond…he was horribly hard.
I think we wiped about 4 times over 3 instances, so considering it was my first time not too bad?
I was having massive massive mana issues, once I get that sorted out it may be ok.
I then decided (insanely) to do an LFR as healer, with my Frosties. It was a horrific LFR, we wiped on trash and Morchok because of an idiot, but it went smoothly after that once we booted them out. I healed, badly, but I healed.
Overall I was most impressed that I was actually healing the twilight heroics. I didn’t think I could do it. I really didn’t. I guess the week of PVP healing really does help
I have been wanting to get the last couple of my mount achievements done on my mage for quite some time, however very rarely do I actually see an ICC run going ahead.
Last night though, we picked up a couple of friends and trundled off to ICC for some mount hunting!
We did it all in heroic bar the lich king himself, and only because our tank and healer had never been to ICC and I think it is a confusing fight when trying to explain it. We have to go back in again next week for at least 3 guildies to get the rest of their achievements as they were unable to join us last night and to get turned by evil blood sucking vampires :) We may try him on heroic then given they now know it and can understand it.
I was pretty shocked when I died because I did not realise how quickly we would be killing him, the fight seemed (in my memory) to take much longer…clearly at level it did!! eheeh
But it was well worth it for my precious!! I think I took about 20 pictures at every angle! I really want the 25 man version as well and was advised that I am not allowed to organise that ICC run on Wednesday nights..LOL…but I blame certain circumstances like a re-interest in raiding for certain people who shall remain nameless – which I have no control over :p *cough* *cough*
I hoping to get ICC10 done quicker next week because we all remember it now, I would like to get Ulduar done on the same night – get that mount out of the way, although I have only done it on 25 man and that was AGES ago! It might be a struggle.
Happy night though!! Next week more people will have awesome mounts that are across all their toons!! WOOT WOOT!
We also did a PVP match after the raid and I healed on my pally again – I actually didn’t do too badly this time because I had a few minutes to set up my grid…LOL bad mistake though. Somehow I managed to make out of range toons completely disappear off my grid, which is kind of awesome for PVP because I am not even looking at them then, but it makes it hard to tell what is going on, so I have to fix that tonight before we do more
So, we are doing some more PVP lately in a group of about 5 of us, I would love to get 10 together and do some rated bg’s. But honestly I don’t know how it all works and I don’t have enough friends to fill a 10 man team at the same time!
However my mage has just over 1100 resilience now and I have enough points to get my head slot item. I am trying to build my conquest points for the sword I want, but you know…that is a long haul. I don’t know how people do this and nothing but
My reporting and ignoring features have been getting very active in PVP I have to admit, they say some very nasty stuff!!
I am still getting some achievements, by accident, but I certainly don’t mind them popping up
I was in the most awesome EOTS match as well, we capped the flag the entire match. As in, we would drop it, it spawned, we capped. We did it about 13 times or something, it was awesome.
I have been surviving better and actually managing to kill people before they kill me – something unheard of before, however this is the first time I have had more than 2 pieces of PVP gear.
Because the five of us are DPS, i decided to try healing on my pally…bad bad bad bad bad bad mistake. I haven’t tried healing since we transferred, and all my macros were gone, my raid frames were not showing out of range properly and I had no buttons on my bars. It was horrific!!! However, I was enjoying myself immensely – there is a certain satisfaction with running past someone engaged in battle and throwing them some heals so they can kill their opponent. I was going to fix my UI last night – but shutdown was early so that put a crimp in…I will try and do that tonight before ICC
As most people who read my blog would know, I have been contemplating switching to my Druid come MoP.
This are two major factors to the decision – I have a viable O/S and account wide achievements and mounts etc.
The issue being, I would like to be able to heal, but given I have never healed before how do you get into it? How do you start learning the skills, at what point do you know you can heal well?
I tried healing on my priest in lowbie dungeons and in the end switched her back to damage because it was just too hard for me – no mana = no heals and I felt useless for it.
My Druid however already has a pretty good boomy set which at worst case I could switch to resto, and of course I am going to read everything I can about doing it..but I need suggestions about how to go about actually getting started
It isn’t like you have a rotation like dps does, and it’s not like you only have to keep mobs hitting you…if healers screw it – people die and I don’t want to have that happen…..
I decided to jump into LFR this morning on my pally as a healer…I have been gearing up her off spec as heals and was dragged into a heroic the other night (shadowfang) – that was my second time healing anything. So LFR was my third time. My level as heals is not enough to get into, but because I have all my tanking gear which isn’t too bad – it bumped me up enough.
I will in future not cheat using that kind of methodology. There was one person in the LFR just giving me shite for having such low his – from memory – approx 8k his….according to this wonderful priest he used to get more in bWD….and as i said to him – congratulations, I am so proud that he was such a great player.
He not only brought it up constantly, but got worse each time we killed a boss and then when i won some gear – OMG he went public with it , which – I am glad to report most everyone told him to stfu. The responses he got were varied about taking lfr to seriously, that I just sucked and to deal with it that perhaps my gear wasn’t good….it’s no wonder players who are nervous about jumping into raiding don’t come back if they are not sure what they are doing – after that guys tirade, it is no wonder you lose your confidence – and yes I now he is just one wanker in a sea of thousands….but I just wish some people would take 5 minutes to remember that some people behind the avatars are new to the classes they are playing and not old pro’s. There was a pally healer in there doing huge healing…I was in awe….and he just kept saying that no one had died so who cared…I like that theory
So here is the rub, it was my third time healing anything with lower gear than what I should have been in – but…how in gods name do you get any heals off in LFR….I had huge over healing – almost 15% most of the time. I am thinking my haste is just too low and my cast times too long, in the end I was just throwing everything i could and still failing at any good healing. BUt some of the time I just stood there doing nothing because none needed healing…felt a little useless really….
***For some unexplained reason, this did not post, so here is me tryin again!***
What a massive few days I have had in game! My god! I just haven’t had chance to post about everything as real life has as usual, taken up time
This is going to be a long post, and I will update with some piccies later when I get home…however let’s get started shall we…not sure if this is going to be at all chronological, but we shall see how it travels!
Saturday night my hubby went out, so given that I had not made any plans, I decided to put in some solid levelling on my druid. I got to level 40 by 9.30pm and was rather happy with that.
I decided at 6.30pm to chain run some dungeons – how bad could it be? Not at all I found out. My first couple of runs were with randoms who were insane with aggroing entire rooms – no fear at lower levels huh?
On my third run, I was grouped with a priest healer and dps warrior from my server in a guild called…hrmm….refuge I think….they were fabulous comedy :) Also had another priest who was unguilded and she (toon) was lovely. We were grabbing random tanks, but we ran a few runs together and it was nice to find some lower level people just hoofing through instances having some fun together.
Found out boomkin is not all that great at lower levels when comparing one self to a SP or mage….my 100dps was just not getting close to their 300dps..so i went to the AH spent 10g on some gear and then went back in and I managed to hit 120dps :D Mind you to be fair; I would get 3 instant casts off and the mob (excluding bosses) would be dead.
I really have no idea what I am doing as yet though – I need to spend some time reading about playing boomkin, at the moment I am almost mashing keys and hoping for things to die. ALMOST!! I don’t really understand how the lunar/solar thing works..YET!
Definitely should have believed everyone when they said I had to get past level 20 to start enjoying a druid! I am loving it. Nowehere near as much as my mage – and probably not as much as my pally – but certainly more than my warrior :D I can’t wait to get to 85 – I may even try healing on her too…it seems sort of fun!
