My warrior makes the cut!

My baby warrior is finally 90!

I have very special feelings for both my mage and my Warrior as they are the same toons I have had since Vanilla, they have gone through moves, changes and factions with me and are the only two characters I have had since then.  My priest was created in BC, and she is the next oldest toon I have.

My warrior started out as a my wait toon, back in the day before btags, when you had to be on a toon that people could see you on to get credit for DKP.  I never really leveled her all that much, I more sat around in the main cities chatting to the guildies that were waiting with me, but I could never let her languish because of that connection I forged with her.

Warrior 90

So she makes the 4th toon to 90 that I have and is now mostly decked out in Timless isle gear already, I had three pieces which I took off my pally (shoulders, legs and boots) and whilst opening chests I found braces, gloves, chest, trinket, helm and ring…not too bad for a about 40 minutes of death…yes I was getting my butt handed to me by all the rares 🙂  I only mention the gear because I found this achievement quite funny when I got rid of one of my rings :

WoWScrnShot_010914_140248

That is for superior items with a minimum of 333 in all slots…That’s where I was at gear wise trying to kill mobs on the Timeless Isles…just think about that for a moment….333!!  Crazy…that is me 🙂

I also laughed when I got this achievement when I landed…Clearly I have no idea how I managed to actually get to 90 doing so few quests??  I must have done dungeons for one levelling period or something??  No idea…

WoWScrnShot_010914_132053

Comparatively my mage has done 7946 quests according to the statitics tab 🙂  I love it!

So deciding what toon to level next?  Shammy who is already 85 or hunter or priest…soo undecided….

Dumbest things I have done recently

So returning to a game you love is pretty difficult because it is amazing the amount of information you forget that at one time seemed really important, but that you don’t realise you have forgotten, because like a remembral – you can’t remember what it is your forgot, even if you do know that you have forgotten something.

I have spent the last month trying to find Evocation in my spellbook, because I realised I had a glyph for it, but wasn’t using it. I spend about 15 minutes every night trying to find it thinking I have missed it on each page, I checked my talent trees to see if it something I needed to spec into now, and concluded I was crazy because it was gone.  I finally decided this morning to google it…turns out…I am using rune of power (duh – which I knew) but that is what replaces evocation!  IDIOT!!!  IDIOT!!!!!!

Of course, that is nothing compared to the idiocy of last night.  I discovered noxxic has a list of approx DPS at differing gear levels, which is goddamn fantastic!  I am of course nowhere near for any of my toons – but it certainly gives me something to aim for so I know what I should be doing.  Anyway I found this after some heroics last night in which my boomy could not get above 20k and infact the healer was beating me in kitty form as resto – she is very well geared though at 550 something whereas I am only barely scraping into the 470 area.  However according to noxxic I should be able to hit about 70k dps….LOL…sure thing buddy!!

I decided then to try and find more hit on my gear somehow, after complaining to the hubby about the lack of hit on boomy timeless isle gear and how I had to reforge all the spirit off because it was useless to me, he advised to check out Mr Robot. I was reticent, but did it anyway and it was telling me to reforge back into spirit – enter my tirade about spirit being useless I don’t need mana regen blah blah blah…..yeah…you can all laugh at me now.  Spirit = hit for some classes.  What is worse, after the hubby had finished laughing at me I remembered the hundreds of disputes I had seen in LFD because DPSers had taken gear with spirit (boomies and SP’s mainly – I am sure there was another class as well – I want to say shammies??).  How could I forget something so instrumental to the classes?

I guess this is the joy of coming back to a game 12 months later, you do forget things and need to spend time re-learning.  I know I am still trying to learn how to play again, I am better on my mage because I have played her for so long, but with other toons I am really struggling to get into the swing of it.  Heroics are also very hard as most of the time I am running with people who are very well geared and hitting the 180k+ DPS mark, which means mobs die faster than I can cast a spell – on both my mage and my boomy.  It makes it hard to see where I am sitting in reality and harder to judge what I need to improve.

I know on my mage in LFR I can sometimes be in the top 10 for damage and hitting just over 100k DPS, but according to noxxic I should be hitting 250k + dps…as a frost mage at my gear level and that is not maximum – that is realistic….no way!?!?!?!?  I have to spend some time on a dummy and test out wtf I am doing wrong as I am missing out on a lot of dps.  I need to examine combat logs of mages and see what they are doing that I am not.    Anyway, I am sure, like the previous things, there is something I have forgotten to do….I just have to find out what that is!!!

Paladin got to the top!!

Woot!  My sexy pally chick made it to 90!!  So happy about that, not only because it means I am max level with the frosties and can actually do stuff with them now, but I also scored a sweet arse achievement, which I was no even aware of previously…I wonder if there are more for getting more toons to 90…I should ask Owl, he has like 11 I think he said…complete nutter!!  I couldn’t do it…some classes are just not suitable playing companions for me 🙂

WoWScrnShot_122813_175052

My last part to 90 was spent in dungeons…strangely, Oom said he would come along and when we tried to sign up with him we couldn’t…the LFD system told me he was too high to do normals, and when Oom tried to sign up it said heroics only.  My guess it is ilevel based?  I have to look into it.  I think it is annoying that max levels can’t sign up for normal dungeons….if that is indeed the case.  So, in the end although others had offered to run some normals with me (and forgotten *cough* *cough*) it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.  I will make them pay with heroics though…”sorry I lost my taunt button???”  <insert evil MUHAHAHAHA here>.

Also hubby brought his druid back to Frosties, figured it was easier as it was already in the guild so just did a guild transfer.  He is slowly levelling, I think he is 88 he said?  I was so focused on getting to 90 I was pretty neglectful 😦  But we ran some dungeons together and that helped him get some xp, so all very useful in the end.

I am terrified of having to get my gear sorted, in fact, I spent some time on the Timeless gathering more gear and I basically have a prot set (armour only) and trying to gather enough coins to buy the shield/weapon.  And I spent all the money I had gemming/chanting it up…I am pretty broke now, but thankfully I got to 90 without setting foot in most of the map, so I will just slowly start questing the areas to open up dailies and get me some money to pay for flasks/repairs.

I did create a bank alt so I can offload stuff to the AH and hopefully that will bring in some cash..but it is a slow burn on that.

I asked the Frostie GM what spec my second should be – I have no immediate plans to raid but if I am online and they are short I would rather have my toon ready for it.  Prot will be her main – always has – but he advised DPS was more an issue than heals.  So Ret she is, with her second set of almost complete timeless isle gear, I spent some time on the dummy and was hitting 32k consistently, with half ret/half prot gear, so I think I can potentially increase that without much effort once I start getting gear.  Of course I am nowhere near the hit cap, and my expertise is short of where it needs to be on either set, but I haven’t upgraded any gear yet  (not enough VP) and some of my gear is still really low level.

For reference hit needs to be 7.5% and expertise 15%  – I am apparently slightly over the hit cap…well bugger me…I was sure I was under, which means I can reforge into expertise now and get that sorted 🙂

Kill ALL THE THINGS!!!

I cannot stress how much fun I have been having in LFR!!

In the last few days I have done even more of them and I still have more to go.  I was hoping to get to through all of them before reset this week, but couldn’t quite manage it.  I admit to being chuffed everytime I finished one a new one would open.

But in all the fights I have done I have only died once due to my own stupidity.  I think that proves that a small amount of input and understanding of what you are supposed to be doing can help you immensely.  LFR may not be the full blown version but it does show that you can be prepared to do your job well and avoid what needs to be avoided.  I ran without mods except for recount just to see where I was sitting, so no omen and no deadly etc, just watching my surroundings and I confess to feeling so good about using my brain and my head to watch for things.

I enjoyed it anyway 🙂  Others will surely disagree.

flesh shaping halls - 6th

forgotten depths - 6th

The one fight that killed me was the boss who summons the purple cloud of death? I was doing ok until that happened and i was down faster than…well faster than someone getting paid to…!!! The raid wiped and we went again and i survived until the second one happened, but since most of the raid had died in the first one, i was happy to have survived. I died with about 5 other people with me. I am feeling no shame about that death!

I didn’t have a clue on the hydra boss, the strat said something about using ice to kill fire but i never got a buff or debuff…so i just followed the crowd when the head died. I felt a bit ‘meh’ about that one.

I cant remember the other ones at the moment – thats terrible!!! But overall i was happy with the fights and was loving being back with other people killing stuff!

Hubby is really close to levelling so we can start doing crazy isle together!! Woot woot!!

I spent a little bit if time getting my druid to 88, and so will be getting her to 90 next – deciding is she should stay horde or not.

So much going on!!

So after multiple friends telling me head to the Timeless Isle as it was a gear festapalooza, I felt determined to do so.

I didn’t realise at the time WTF they were talking about, as I had been there (without paying attention to the name) and had died many many many times, and didn’t really spend any “quality” time there.  I later discovered though on my return trip (after being convinced to try it again) it is goddamn heaven!!!  HEAVEN I tells you!!!

After finally figuring out I should be looking for treasure, I got a little crazy and managed to pick up almost 7 pieces of cloth gear in the first couple of hours.   My girl went from having an ilevel of about 450 to almost 470 very quickly.  Whilst there I managed to steal some Celestial kills and I scored a Tier piece!! Sweet as!!!  I didn’t join the raid group just fired some shots at the mobs to see what happened and how quickly they could kill me  – Fast is the answer to that query.  That crane….every single time!!

gloves tier

So after trolling around I did manage to score this sweet little thing as well:

celestial tournament

I had not realised I had managed to do them all.  I do love that Zahyrm the ghost skull is in the cave, that was cool 🙂 I hate that I cannot get to the crate after walking the ropes…Stupidly – I can do the ropes without even coming close to having an issue…but do you think I can – for the life of me – land on the damn platform with the box?!!??!?  GAHHHH!!!   I have iceblocked soooo many damn times now it is not funny!

I have been doing it simply so I can get into some yummy LFR goodness!!  I can’t wait to see some of the raids and experience the content. I know, LFR isn’t the “real” thing, but it is bloody close to it and given my shift work – it will be about the only thing I can commit to!!

I also reacquainted myself with my garden and had fun finding where the dailies were and was shocked to see the area near the main town destroyed!!  Just messed up – I actually really enjoyed those dailies 😦

PVP?? Really?

Regular readers of my blog, will know my feelings regarding PVP.  I think you are all nuts!

However, when 2v2 teams came into the game, hubby and I created a team, and I was in a 3v3 and 5v5 with some then guildmates.  So, what are we talking…BC if memory serves me correctly?  We rocked that 2v2 team – he played his shammy and I was on my mage and we won about 50% of the matches we entered.  To be honest that was about 50% more than I thought I would ever win.  But we had fun doing it, I wasn’t in it for the rating or the OMG MUST KILL thing…I was just enjoying an aspect of my favourite game.

Due to an issue on our 5v5 team and in particular with a guildie who hated me for a reason I am still trying to work out, we ended up moving guilds and starting up our guild, the pvp fell by the wayside.

Anyway, the last couple of nights we have been doing some random BG’s, and I have actually been enjoying myself, in fact, on my mage, I have been dying less than I normally do.  Of course I have only 2 pieces of PVP gear at the moment, but I am starting to get interested in it again.

I had not done any of the new BG’s side from Strand of the Ancients before the last few nights and I have to admit the influx of achievements has been a little encouraging 🙂  I even looked into starting up a 2v2 team again….shame!

Stupidly, I bought a war raptor on my druid to add to the collection of account wide mounts (I hope) for MoP:

Not realising that in the 15 minutes after doing that people would decide they wanted to start PVPing and I just wasted a buttload of honour points 😦  At least it was my druid and not my mage, who the night before spent all 4000 of my justice points on enchanting mats figuring I would never use them for gear 😦

Anyway, I managed to get the following achievements (and even a couple of them on my druid as well in consequent BG’s when I did them on her).  The guild even scored a few more PVP achievements, which is pretty sweet – all we need now is a Dwarf mage and lock….for the class slayers 😀

So in no particular order :p

Also got this on my druid now

MUHAHAHHA

Killers aren’t we?

I had fun, I am looking at some PVP spec for my mage, likely I will just go frost or fire, leaning towards fire  🙂  We shall see what happens.

Still mogging for the olympics :)

I have had a very productive morning, mogging my toons for the olympics.  I got 4 outfits done today and I have a few ideas about the other ones running in my mind.

I am slightly amazed at how many people are a part of this now, I think we were over the 30 mark last time I checked and that is intense competition if you ask me 🙂

I am hoping for at least one of my toons to get a medal and if I even get more than that I will be ecstatic!!  I am not the best at transmog as I am a pretty quirky kind of person so my outfits are a little non mainstream 🙂  But I am having fun and that is all I care about!!  Not everyone is going to get something though – just because of sheer numbers and I assume they are only giving out gold, silver and bronze…so it is going to be tough tough tough 🙂

Hubby is going out tonight, so I am going to see if I can do anymore, however my brain is pretty mushy at the moment, so I may just level my priest a little bit and not do anymore transmog…I still have 3 weeks to finish  them all off.

I also have to sort through all the screenshots I am taking and see which ones are usable and effective, but I am only using Mogit, so it really isn’t all that hard 🙂

I am going to have a great time trying to delete all these toons I am making as well given they all have mail etc, I have to log into each of them and delete all the mail …time consuming let me tell you!!  LOL

I used my mage for the flag bearer, but I really want to use her for something else as well.  She is my main toon she deserves to be in the spotlight at some point I think!

Anyway, I am off to do the mowing since hubby is still sick and make some lunch 🙂

Transmogging and brain killer

Last night we went to DS, our intent was to do some heroic modes, we didn’t have enough people online so we did a normal run.

The alts vs main thing flared up AGAIN!!! I am so fucking sick of the argument and in truth I just wish they would call it quits with raiding until mop.

We had a pug rogue in the raid who was hassling our hunter for winning some vial trinket off yorsahj and I had to boot them because he kept hassling her. He then proceeded to mock us for our bad dps and being so shit…what’s funny is that we aren’t a guild who watches our dps or even really gives a shit about meters etc..The joke was on him really because we were completely uninsulted :).

The issue I have is that I agree with the rogue about the trinket…I am not entirely sure why hunters would use a trinket that procs a physical damage effect….do hunters even do physical damage? Yes I understand the agility is good for hunters, but same for rogues and shammies and more so because they benefit from the proc…can anyone clarify hunters for me?!?!?

I was outnumbered and when I explained about the proc I got told basically it was bis for hunters…sure?

Anyway, aside from that we only killed up to ultraxion after wiping the first time on him.

Transmogrify for the Olympics is killing my brain, I come up with outfits and then decide they aren’t good enough, do start again…I have to stop doing that. The competition has some of the best transmoggers competing though and I really feel I have to produce completely perfect concepts! Hehe I will get there though!

Mogging it

I was transmogging gear again with Mog it last night and getting sooooooooo annoyed that my low level characters had bugger all items…I hung around hoping that Navimie would turn up online as I couldn’t figure out the problem and I was gong to beg her to help me.

Turns out, google search was useless in helping me and I couldn’t find what I was after.  The Navimie saved my bacon though…stupid filters 😀 took her about 0.1 of a second to know the issue…got to love that girl.

Warrior love

I had my day off on Wednesday and so I spent some time giving my warrior some love 🙂

Started off doing Ahune on all my toons – stupidly I was tanking on my pally when I signed up as healer and I didn’t even realise…DUH!

After those 4 were done, I decided to run some normals on my warrior, just to get rid of some gear – I am wearing tanking greens, but they are greens 🙂  I want to be able to at least be running twilight heroics…possibly LFR, but I am not overly stressed about that.  I am already running LFR on my druid and I have no idea how people do it multiple times on their various alts…I could probably handle it on one more toon…but that would be the limit.

Anyway, every run, I explained to the group that I was building my set so my threat generation was a little slow and to be please be aware.  I had absolutely no problems. I think my little warning let people know the situation and it made things so much easier.  If I lost mobs I got them back very quickly, overall no one died in the 6 or so runs I did and I was quite happy with it. No one yelled at me or gave me shit – that made me happy as well.

I am half blues now, 1 epic and the rest still greens, I am getting there.  I can run heroics now for cata if I want to, but I will hold off until I am happy with my gear – a little more change would be nice.  I don’t want to run into heroics and get squished with one hit.

I was quite happy with my effort and I have missed tanking on my warrior…I do enjoy my pally as well, but my warrior has been around as long as my mage has, and holds a very special place in my heart 🙂

He was quite happy to be getting back into the dungeons as well…kept jumping around like a crazy cow. I think he is just happy to be having company again.

Sucker for punishment :D

I was going to do LFR on my druid last night and ended up going to DS with a pug – guild group with a few short.  This guild clears heroic bosses, so I had high hopes of it being successful.

Overall it was, we started at 8 or 8.30pm and it went until 11.45pm, by which stage I had to leave and so did a few others.  We wiped once on Warmaster, and then wiped about 4 times on Spine.

So I have yet to kill DW.  Last nights run was the closest so far, and I will keep trying.  It was a pretty good group and they were a pretty fun bunch of people until the wiping starting and then it got tense.

They are recruiting people and kept making commenting but they are far too hardcore for my tastes. The raid leader said they stopped running 25 mans because it was too hard to single out individuals who sucked.

That’s a pretty harsh reason for people not to run 25 mans, but that is my opinion and I am sure it is quite fair for hardcore guilds.  But it just reinforces my confusion about raiding.  I was pretty high DPS most of the night except on fights like Warmaster where I have never ever done well, but I really felt like an idiot most of the night because they seemed to be able to play so much better….but then…a hunter and DK…were giving me a run for my money – I have to remember that neither of those classes has DPS issues though – face roll much :p

(watch all the hunters and DK’s fire up :p)

I did cop flack for using food and potions, and then later about some stuff on my gear.  Neither impressed me at all.  I am not in a top end raiding guild, and even if I was I would still do the same anyway I think.  I like using different foods and potions on different fights, and at the end of the day, that small amount is not going to make the difference in a fight.

I hate it when people assume everyone else is an idiot and don’t know anything about the game.  I know how to get my toon ready for raiding – and I am sorry,  a +40 gem over a +20 gem (an example only people!) is NOT going to make such a huge difference that you will be able to see it on the logs – END OF STORY!  Certainly not with a player like me who is not ever going to be in a Top 10 guild and perhaps on patchwerk it might because there is no interruption to a perfect rotation, but in the current fights….no way.

Anyway, I had fun last night and it was great to get through so much as quickly as we did.  I was not having a super night with my procs…which annoyed me a little as my DPS was not as high as I have seen it.  But hey, that is fire spec 😀

I am a little ranty today 🙂  Sorry.  It was meant to be an upbeat post about my enjoyment last night!

Long, Strange, Trip

Finally!!!

I got me a Violet Drake!

I only had one more day to get it and I did not want to miss out this year 🙂  I always fail because of the PVP achievements you need for Children’s week, not being a big PVPer, I have no res gear and no PVP skills 🙂  I was getting really annoyed after constant failure that I was crying in guild chat.  A guildie offered to help me out and as you can see from the above – we were successful!

4/4 matches as well, got to every single one of them.  WSG was a worry as not one horde person came to get our flag until about 1 minute left on the game so we smashed him and got my last one.  I also got the damage control achievement in AB for doing 300k damage in one match.  I never thought I would see that achievement, so I was a little chuffed with myself – seriously, I normally spend an entire game dead or ressing – so to get any damage was pretty impressive for me!

The Violet put me at 99 mounts, so I logged off to check the armoury and see what I was missing for the last one to get to 100, and discovered that I hadn’t bought all the nether wing drakes, I was missing two of them 🙂  So Bam!  Another achievement today as well 🙂  4 new mounts in total, and a new title and lots of achievements!  Was so much fun.

I then decided to take my poor unloved druid to LFR and won a necklace on her- YAY, and I also discovered that I bought a wrong tier piece as the 2 set bonus isn’t working because I have one boomy and one resto piece – yes I feel like a right royal twat and am so embarrassed about it 🙂  So I have to fix that ASAP!!  My poor baby girl.

Leather and Lace

Mataoka over at WoWSugar has gone ahead and done another competition like the plate one recently thrown into the blogosphere – called Leather and Lace.  This one is more my taste considering I have gone to a lot of effort on my druid and my pally was not transmogged until about 3 days ago. Rules and information are on her website 😀

I wanted my baby to look like a druid with greens and browns and yellows, to be earty yet still sassy.  I did a few lowbie quests for some gear like my weapon which has ever changing flowers on it and I scoured the AH and professions of people to find gear I liked and matched my overal look.

I love my druid – almost as much as my mage – almost…follow me to see her Outfit to be Azeroth’s Next Top Leather Wearer!!

Pussy Plate?

I read this post today @ clear casting, one of my regularly read blogs and I did have to have a chuckle.

I am a victim of the slutty clothes wearing avatar…although my reason for it is simple I have an outfit for each of my mage specs…My fire spec is all red and fleshy because I get hot and flustered casting pyro’s and fireballs, my frost set is more covered and blue to keep me warm and my arcane spec is currently a work in progress with mostly covered but not over the top and is all purples/pinks….

I don’t think my choice of clothes has any relevance to what kind of person I am – other than perhaps slightly OCD about having different sets for my specs….

Of course I tend to see transmog like an invisibility cloak almost – it is only made to look like the gear – not replace it, so I am – in theory – not really going up against a dragon wearing nothing….I still have my full gear on protecting my naughty bits….I guess it is just the difference in my mind 🙂

The comments made on Clearcasting’s thread were worth a read though 🙂

Upgrade!

I finally did a completely painless LFR yesterday !!!!!

Pleasant surprise!

I scored a chest tier token and then discovered that I had enough vp with that and my heroic runs to get another upgrade so I grabbed the ring. I will have to wait until next Tuesday now to run it all again but I am happy it has boosted my ilevel to 382 now I think.

So a couple more weeks in heroics and LFR and I should be good.

I am tempted to start running my pally through LFR but in all honesty I am just too chicken.

We are on guild break until the 9th so that is why I have been playing SWTOR and just vegging out.

I also got my archy maxed today finally!!!!!! So I am going to do my best to discover the damn raptor mount and pet and the vial of sands!!! One day 🙂

Pallies, mages, gear …OH MY!

***For some unexplained reason, this did not post, so here is me tryin again!***

What a massive few days I have had in game!  My god!  I just haven’t had chance to post about everything as real life has as usual, taken up time 🙂

This is going to be a long post, and I will update with some piccies later when I get home…however let’s get started shall we…not sure if this is going to be at all chronological, but we shall see how it travels!

Complete Vanity Post

Yup, this is a complete post about my achievements, gear, pets etc.  I have placed behind a cut as they are just images basically 🙂

To kick start it though, here is a picture of my sexy worgen dressed in old world mage gear – complete with Elemental Mage Staff 🙂  There is a mix of Arcanist and Netherwind Regalia as I am still trying to get a complete set – and for the moment, I think she looks hawt!!

Who needs a robe when you look this good?

Sunday Share: Guildox

My hubby pointed out this site to me the other day – Guildox – as one that he uses religiously and I have now jumped on the bandwagon.

there are plenty of sites out there that deal with BiS pieces, and I have used so many different ones, but I think Guildox has the easiest interface and user friendliness of them all.

When you head to guildox, make sure to click on loot rank at the top, then select your class and spec on the right hand side in the yellow box.

I set all my filters to remove heroic raids and pvp stuff and then voila – a clear concise list of what gear I need to get, enchants, reforging and gems all in the one place.

Whilst raiding this is handy as I can just keep it open and flick through the slots as gear drops and determine their relevance for me without wasting too much time. Especially since, I can if needed, steal loot from spirit wearers – I want to ensure it is worth it 😀

Check it out anyway!!
