Brawlers Guild

I am no longer a Brawling Virgin.  I decided to just jump in today and see how badly I could fail.  Turns out…I did better than I expected I would do.  I am currently level 6 and it really didn’t take all that long. I stupidly, attempted a level 7 mob from the start and I think I was a little confused about  how easy that one would be.  I had a quest from my garden which gave me a challenge card….after dying about 4 times, I decided I would just start from the beginning 🙂

First brawler winBruce was so darn easy…I was fine up until I got to :

Grr Brawler

It took me about 10 attempts to kill him, I was so frustrated by the end of it, but I kept getting caught in his ground effect even though it looked as though my toon was well out of the way – clearly blink doesn’t work as well as I expected :p  In the end I kicked his butt!!!!

I did manage to fudge through one boss, for some reason, someone was in the ring fighting their boss and I got pulled in for mine – at the same time – but when the other guy killed his mob it counted towards me having killed mine.  Confused?  I know I am still wondering how that happened, it was completely weird…

Hubby decided to come and join me as well, and we were cheering each other on as you do.  I do love the cam view you can use which makes it look like you are right in the arena with them…pretty cool really.

Brawler Cheer

I will definitely be going back to the brawlers guild, it was a lot of fun and gives you some other small thing to challenge yourself with.  I like it. A lot!  Anyone else out there doing this?

Mog the World in 80 days competition!!!

I had a brilliant idea whilst trying to think of things for the shared topics on blog Azeroth, so in summation, we can blame Fimlys and Hydra for what is about to happen here at Azerothian Life.  Inspired by stupidity perhaps, however without further ado –  I have decided to hold a transmogging contest!!

Honestly I think it is a fantastic idea which can celebrate the many different cultures and countries we all spawn from!  With Australia day looming close, I felt it was a great day to get this event started!  You can read about it on this page!

The judges I have managed to wrangle together (no actual wrangling occurred…we were out of jelly and not near any mud :p ) are none other than the brilliant, gorgeous, talented and very likeable trio of Navimie, Cymre and Kamalia!!  Woot Woot!

The event will run over 12 weeks and as it is not starting until the 26th January 2014 you have plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the details, start working on outfits and contact us for any questions you may have.

It will be a tight schedule of an outfit a week, but as most people are transmogging genii, I don’t think you will struggle at all!!  I will be sending out updates and confirmations on twitter, so follow me @dragonray to be kept in the loop.

Please spread the word, we are currently in the process of sourcing prizes so we will keep you up to date. Donations of prizes for winners are also welcome and would be very warmly received!

End of the Mogolympics

The Olympics have come to an end! Check out my page for all my outfits!

I was amazed at the oufits people put in and have found some new items I am going to have to try and find, then replicate outfits.

Overall I won a silver medal for my hammer throw design and I was so ecstatic to even have been considered for a medal.

Silver medal winner!

I also came close on another outfit, but overall I was thrown out of the packs pretty early 🙂

I think the judges must have had a horrible time trying to sort through over 40 entries for each event, I think they did a fantastic job sticking with it.

I guess the thing with transmog is it is a very personal thing, the outfits I preferred were generally earlier on in the events, and didn’t make it very far into the placings.  However I was having fun trying to guess who did what outifts based on their own personal styles 🙂

Overall, it was fantastic, and I think everyone had a great time doing it and participating in the event.  I am jealous that my outfits didn’t win every single event – except for my discus event which even I thought sucked!  I am also jealous that I didn’t get to judge them either…HAAHHA !!  cake and eat it syndrome I know 🙂

JD has even created an entire website dedicated to all the outfits – it will be updated over time so be sure to keep checking it out 🙂

This was one of the most exciting things I have ever done in the community, and I have amazed myself at how insane I got about checking websites for updates, and comparing all the outfits and just drooling over shields, headpieces, weapons…words can not express how awesome this was 🙂

Thanks everyone who was involved with this. You are all awesome.

Laid Back Raid Ulduar

I went on a LBR this morning to Ulduar 🙂

We started off with barely 10 of us and by the end we had swelled to 20, new people being added every couple of bosses or so.  It was pretty enjoyable, slightly scary to start off as JD was “tanking” (he had tank gear on right, that counts???) and all of us were stealing aggro like maniacs, I am surprised we didn’t have more death to be honest.  He was a trooper though!!

We killed everything except Yogg and Algalon.  Although we gave both of those bosses 1 attempt – I thought we should have given them each another try, given these are LBR people don’t know the fights, they come to them with very little experience and I think it is a little harsh to expect people to do the right thing first time in.

We wiped on FL as we left all the towers up – but I blame the game for that as my buttons could not be used during the fght from about halfway – I don’t remember ever having that issue, so perhaps it was a mechanic I have forgotten, but it seemed a little glitchy to me.  We then killed all the towers, or so we thought, and spanked him down with the freezing tower up.

We wiped on Ignis with so much damage going on not surprising really, and I think we only had one healer at that stage – correct me if I am wrong.  Then we got a couple more people in and killed him.  I spent most of the time in his crotch pot, which was sweaty and disgusting!!!

Razor we smashed out of this world – and killed her before she took off again, XT we killed the heart on and then managed to smack him to bits which was also pretty cool.  We killed the council without too much trouble although it was a little messy.

Kologarn we were trying to get the achievement for not killing his arms, but discovered that an unnamed guildie of mine was attacking the right arm instead of the chest, so we managed to kill him, but without the achievement 🙂  We went to Hodir next and managed to get both chests open on that one, I think people got caught in the first flash freeze, ut then after that it was just the NPC’s mainly, so that was pretty good if you ask me, it is one hell of a messy fight!  Auriya killed us by accident as we were taking too long in killing some adds, so we came back in and she layed some smack down on our tank – literally one hit wonder- I swear!!  We got her on the third attempt as we had a couple of others come in to supplement, and she went down like a sack of potatoes.

Freya got pulled before we were ready, and although we lasted quite a while, it was a little premature – given we left all three extras up for hard mode, so we reset her and then came back in and got her easily without the extra extra adds.  That is one hell of a messy fight and never ever ceases to amaze me!!  Then we did Thorim and spanked the bejesus out of him not very exciting at all, my guildies main concern was the lack of Jorgmunger at the start 🙂  Mimiron was easy, although I dc’d just as the middle bit started firing at me, and by the time I got back in I was dead in flames!!

I spent most of the fight wanding it up against General Vesax and just sort of doing nothing, then failed miserably on Yogg, I went in and killed the tentacles and then went insane because of the stupid stupid skull sucking insane thing.  Algalon, would have gone ok, except we had lost a fair few by then due to lunch, so we called it after the wipe on him.

All in all, I had a very very enjoyable run today, it was nice to just be chilling out and not really paying attention to much except having a laugh.  There were so many people getting achivements!!  It was amazing, I was so excited for them all to be getting them 🙂

The most embarrassing moment of course is me telling my hubby that Kerise was Kamalia and I was far too chicken to even talk to her….so he actually SAYS THAT in raid chat!

*embarrasmment crits for 1000000 overkill*

Then when she had to leave I got this whisper, and the coolest thing I could think of to say back…..was with a smiley face….seriously!??!!?  I suck!

There were a few other bloggers in there that I was all excited to see the names of, but I couldn’t bring up the courage to chat to them privately so I just stuck to chatting in raid chat 🙂

Running with Wolves and bears and kitties oh my!

Last night, I got messaged about doing a Heroic FL run…did you say a “get some eternal embers run? – with my frosties?? ”  – hell yes!!  I am in.

In between the 3 minutes it took for me to get back online we weren’t getting any embers 😦  Instead we tried for The Throne of the four winds – heroic.  Can I just say, WTF?!!?!?  I came on my pally, hubby on his SP and one of our guildies came to heal.

I had so much fun, just wished I had my warrior geared enough really, so I could run stuff with them more often on their server and with the rest of the guildies 🙂

We didn’t get either down heroically, but it was fun trying to do it. We got an achievement which means it was definteily not for nothing!

What I found super funny though was the healer that came with me was having real trouble understanding all the fast talking aussies…One with a very odd sounding mic and slight accent, so he was whispering me and asking for clarification, but even I was having trouble with the 3000 words per second these guys speak at 😀

I was lucky though…just hit the mob and dance ws all I was focusing on 🙂 I kept being nubtank and taunting the boss off Fue..I felt so stupid for doing it.  He was very good natured about it!

The twitterverse was busting last night waiting for the MOP cinematic to happen – it was LATE!!!  However the Chris Metzenesque human was worth the wait 😀  It ws very cool, I am definitely rolling a monk if I get to slam down my stave and have the woosh of the wind happen – oh hell YEAH!!!!!  I can’t wait for the next month to fly by- so disappointed I have no annual leave to take…. 😦

Some more excitement this morning on my twitter feed with an ex-GM Keeva coming back from my dream guild, with a new site – going to see if she has any tips to get me healing on my druid :p  Not sure if she plans on getting much game time in, but it is nice to see her back around the place 😀  Here’s to hoping I can get her into some runs with us and the frosties if she has time.

There was just too much going on, I didn’t want to inundate everyone with a million posts – so one post will have to do!  eheheh

Chibis!!

I have more chibis to show off today!!  I am so in love with chibis at the moment, I am going to get some more done of my other toons – purple nurple needs one, and my sexy pally 🙂  But I will leave that a while yet…perhaps another artist as well, just for a different style 🙂 They are so awesome!!

Here is my mage!!  I wanted the arcanist set and my elemental mage staff.  Although I love my Robe of the void, I am still having trouble transmogging it with gear, so for the moment I am going with classic style 🙂  I wanted her to have brown eyes and black hair and a blue streak, so she is similar to me IRL 🙂

Isn’t she just spanking 🙂  I prefer my mage as a Draenei, but as I am now a BE i felt it was appropriate to have one that looks like her – both of her in chibi form are so beautiful that I am in awe of people that can do this kind of artwork!!

I requested the Kirin Tor familiar before I even had it, so hence why I made such an effort to get them done.  I wanted to not feel guilty 😀

I also requested a dragon sitting in a treasure mound and looking friendly and happy.  When I think of dragonray, that’s what always comes to mind.  It has been a nick name I have used since I started using mIrc a hundred years ago 🙂  I wanted her to be violet, purple, blue as they are my favourite colours and I am very happy with the outcome.  I gave Sleepingfox free reign and told her to just draw what she wanted aside from the colours, oh, and she had to have wings 😀

My boomy, well regular readers will know I love my boomy…I am obsessed you could say.  I wanted a goofy looking oomkin with that fantastic staff behind her.  I loved how she turned out as well.  Goofy all over 🙂  I am so enamoured of the cute little tails as well, on both of them, I want to just tickle them.

My original Chibi is the background on my iPhone, these three are going to be added to my mac, ipad and pc…not sure of the order yet – I may switch them all around, and once i receive the original chibi (as it was a painting), I am going to get these guys printed and framed as well – I want to get them all the same (or similar) size 🙂  I have a lovely blank wall for them to go on that I face when I am at my computers.

I am also going to get my hubby to create some backgrounds for me – for twitter and my blog(s) using them so I can use them there as well! SQUEEEEEE

I am in Chibi heaven.

Shared topic: are you playing the beta

So, once again Frinka has suggested a topic for Blog Azeroth the week.

Are you playing the MoP Beta? Why or why not? How much time are you spending there vs. the “live” servers.

Like a few other posts I have read, I was dying to get a beta key, in fact it was basically why I joined the annual pass. It was the first beta for WoW I have ever received. I missed out on all the others.

When I finally got access, I spent almost a week trying to get the darn thing to download and when I finally had enough game data to play I jumped in – not caring that there was less functionality than a hole in the ground.

As most know, the crowding was insane and questing was essentially impossible, however with all things combined I wondered whether I really wanted to play the beta after all 🙂 solidified by people advising just recently they had to redownload up to 20gb again or something….I was very glad I decided to not bother.

So to answer the question, I played beta for about 30 minutes in total. I have since tried to avoid all the pretty stunning pictures and information about the quest lines. I want to experience it all fresh and free from subjective opinions based in the grumples in the community.

I am going to start investigating the raids though so I can plan a little better, but with just over a month to go, I am pretty excited.

So slack of me, but here is some link love for those who posted about this as well:

Transmogolympics Update

It is on!!!

Apparently of the 77 entrants we only had approx 50 people pass the time trials, so poor judges now have two weeks to get them all sorted and voted.  Of course I am going to win every event so I think we could just end it all here right?? HA!

I wish.

Anyway the schedule is as follows :

  • Week One: Hammer Throw, Cycling, Discus
  • Week Two: Archery, Javelin, Wrestling
  • Week Three: Freestyle, Equestrian, Fencing

I think all of us are now just standing around freaking out about the waiting time, I know it is only a couple of weeks, but I want to see all the outfit and compare my awesome to everyone else’s 🙂

Updated Information

Good Luck to everyone and let the games begin!

My first ever Sunwell!

After me logging the other night because of the asshats in my alliance guild, I logged onto my warrior and one of our guildies was going to be heading into Sunwell.  So I got an invite to tag along.  Even my hubby decided to come with us.

We never did Sunwell when it was current, we did one or two nights farming the trash – but we found that too hard for us. We started raiding late, and had we stuck with it back then we could have probably gotten to Sunwell eventually.

Anyway since then, I have done a whole bunch of pugs which never get passed the first boss and if I have joined after that boss, we never get passed Frosty.

The first boss was hard even now as it required communication about % of health.  We wiped the first time 😦  But then got it on the second.

We then smacked Brute and had a few attempts on Frosty.  Can I just say – what a pain in the arse that fight is/was!?!?!?

Song was telling us to look for him when he was up to see where the breath was, and I must confess I couldn’t even see the tard because I was chasing mobs. It was horrific. Mind you given it was my second time seeing that actual fight, I am not surprised I was clueless.  In the end we just had to burn through before the air phase – which we did.  It would have been tough when it was current content.

Muru was fantastic!  He was like a dark purple nurple adal – i loved it 🙂  From what I could tell of the fight, it would have been an interesting one in its day.

Then he turned into a massive void shadow thing and I was just enjoying myself so much 🙂 I had no idea what the hell was going on!

After that we headed to the big man to cleanse his evil from the empire :p

I was pretty ecstatic to have done this – I never thought I would ever see Sunwell.  I need to do it on my mage for the BC achievement – it’s the only one I am missing I think. This would have been spectacular in its day, along with all the raids of the BC era which had style! I am jealous at all the people who did get to see this content when it was current.

I am sorry we sucked a little Song, but thank you so much for taking us along for the ride. It means a lot that we got to see it.  Hubby has never seen past the first archway of trash 😀

My only regret was not realising I could have been a dragon for the fight – or some of it anyway.  I could have just flown around being all dragonlike and awesome.  So here is me after the boss kill anyway 😀

It was a fantastic end to what a horrific start of my raid night.

Mogging it

I was transmogging gear again with Mog it last night and getting sooooooooo annoyed that my low level characters had bugger all items…I hung around hoping that Navimie would turn up online as I couldn’t figure out the problem and I was gong to beg her to help me.

Turns out, google search was useless in helping me and I couldn’t find what I was after.  The Navimie saved my bacon though…stupid filters 😀 took her about 0.1 of a second to know the issue…got to love that girl.

My flag bearer

I got the Sha’tar tabard as my country.  I decided to use my mage for this as she is relevant to the BC era  😀 and has lovely long legs.

Anyway, I have to let JD know, so you guys are getting this before anyone else!!  This will be the only one I can post up here as all voting is anonymous on the outfits.

Waving her Sha’tar flag proudly!

God awful ugly colours let me tell you, but I am loving the outfit I put together 😀 I hope these pictures are better quality, they looked awesome on my pc, but not sure if they lost quality when i uploaded them, and my work computers are so old, I can’t tell if they are nice or not.

I hope you enjoy!

Mogolympics information

What did I just do!

I just requested to be entered into the

Mogolympics!!

Waiting to find out if I am in and which tabard I am getting.

Sha,tar!! I am IN – it is on girls and boys!

**edited to add**

Maybe one of my professional transmoggers can help me out here, what if you don’t have the item…for example..I don’t have a chopper…so do i just create my set without being near a bike and then the judges will be comparing it with an image? Will that disadvantage me not being near the item in question?

Oh god…this is stressful already and I don’t even know if I am in yet 🙂

Off topic – girly post! Nails, comics and superheros!

So this is very offtopic post for probably anyone that is of a male variety 🙂 Feel free to read and pass onto other people who may enjoy it!

After a pretty cool night last night chatting to Navimie about stuff, I remembered about these two very cool things,  that I had to link for her and Cymre to enjoy.

Let me set up some back story!

Leather and Lace

Mataoka over at WoWSugar has gone ahead and done another competition like the plate one recently thrown into the blogosphere – called Leather and Lace.  This one is more my taste considering I have gone to a lot of effort on my druid and my pally was not transmogged until about 3 days ago. Rules and information are on her website 😀

I wanted my baby to look like a druid with greens and browns and yellows, to be earty yet still sassy.  I did a few lowbie quests for some gear like my weapon which has ever changing flowers on it and I scoured the AH and professions of people to find gear I liked and matched my overal look.

I love my druid – almost as much as my mage – almost…follow me to see her Outfit to be Azeroth’s Next Top Leather Wearer!!

Enter Ironbound Proto Drake

I have had a dreadful flu for the last week and so have not really been doing anything much other than levelling lowbie alts that take no brain power.

I have also been running countless heroics with the hubby to get one of his other toons LFR ready (YAY) so we can run it together  now on a couple of alts.  All my toons got a workout, I tanked a couple – and decided i was not really well enough to continue with it, so went back to my boom chicken and/or mage.

Day 4: best wow memory

My best wow memory; I am not sure I have only one, I have so many wonderful memories and I really can’t pick my best. I am going to list a few of my favorite memories!

1: when I was a very young Mage wearing agility and strength gear with intellect and spirit, a lovely fellow guildy pulled me to the AH and bought me a complete outfit and taught me about gear, stats and what it all meant in the greater scheme of things 🙂 thanks A!

2: a Mage called sienna bought me my first mount. He was an awesome Mage and he taught me (attempted) how to pvp. We used to duel out the front of ironforge and he showed me the importance of rotations and talent trees!

3: the first time I ever stepped foot into a raid environment was 40 man MC and I was amazed by the size of the cavern and the monsters, I was hooked that first time, I loved it and everything that raiding entailed.

4: having the confidence to start my own guild and then motivating people to succeed….

I am sure there are more but honestly they are the four that really stick out as favorite memories. The game has changed so much since then, but there are always memories being developed 🙂

All the fun and humour…

Sometimes clicking the portal helps

This picture is just some of the fun I had whilst questing today…I was checking out the molten front and doing some quests when i jumped through the portal and didn’t think I needed to click….yeah, kind of ran straight off the edge of the cliff and was free falling for a very long time 😀  I had to giggle at myself for seriously missing the cog entirely…
