Making friends and warm fuzzy feelings!

I need to start this off my saying I am not great at making friends in person, online though; I am not nervous or shy. I think the benefits of essentially being unknown is that you can take a few moments to compose responses or think of witty responses to things.

Most people would consider me an extrovert, however I consider myself an introvert until I really feel comfortable in the company.

I have been blogging since 2009 about WoW and really, I made very little attempt at making friends or getting out there in the blogosphere for fear of rejection or ridicule.  Anyway once I decided to put myself out there and just start talking to people no matter how dumb I felt, I found an entire new world of basically very very lovely people.  One being Navimie.  Anyway, you all know how beautiful she is,  recent experiences have shown how much you all love/appreciate/enjoy her.

Have you ever tried to introduce real life friends to WoW? If yes, how did it go? If you never have, why not?

Mine is in two parts, the story of my recruitment and me recruiting others.

LFR should come with a warning

I jumped online last night to run an LFR with a twitter friend @mementh.  He finally got this legendary daggers – GRATS!!  and I wanted to see his wings 🙂

So we did the second half of LFR with some friends of his and generally it went ok.  Had some issues on Spine – I think the tank was new perhaps – he was just kiting the mob around everywhere – it was painful.

We wiped, but not after a load of abuse by a lot of people 🙂 Poor guy should really read up about what he is going to attempt before walking in and thinking 24 people are not going to have a go at you for fucking it all up.

Whilst waiting for him to be ready, I remembered that there should be a pending realid request if I was any sort of lucky!  THERE WAS!!!  EEP!

Anyway I was far too excited to actually have another blogger added to my realid list, I feel so special that people even want to talk to me at all.  I am sure they have many people waffling on to them all the time though,  fielding like 300 whispers is probably not easy anyway.

I didn’t really do much else, it was late when I got home and then after cooking dinner etc, I really was just exhausted.  But overall I had an absolutely fantastic night.

 

Shared Topic: Nicest Thing

This one could be about 600 pages long, and in all honesty I could not mention the millions of nice things people have done for me in game.  I will try to list as many as I can though – it is always good to thank the people out there who made this game what it is and not just moan about the idiots who make it that little bit of hell 🙂

My first guild was full of nice people who just wanted to help 😀  Auricthewise – pulled me aside one day when he saw I was wearing all manner of weird shit and explained to me that each class has specific stats..a mage wearing strength and agility was not the way to go 🙂  He spent a packet on the AH (back in the days before dailies so money was precious) and got me some upgrades 😀  I will never forget that kindness.

Theholyman and Alexelder, trundled me through Gadzetzan and Dustwallow marsh a few times to help me quest, fun times 🙂  Bomma running me through Deadmines repeatedly and making me fall in love with boomkins 😀

Senna, a fellow mage, i honestly can’t remember how we met, but s/he gave me money towards my first mount 🙂 s/he also spent a lot of time with me teaching me how to duel, pvp, rotate spells.  All very important stuff as a mage!

Koliara and Dreddly – gave me a lot of support when doing the guild leading thing. That is both ingame and out as well,  but basically being officers and doing bank organisation and being class leaders after a fashion, without wanting to actually be officers. It was a blessing.

Mithraci and Cayehn- for being co-gm’s with me and dealing with the shit with me and booting people and controlling the insanity.

Those are the four major things that actually come to mind when thinking about the nicest things.  I mean after playing since Vanilla, I couldn’t just come up with one thing 🙂
