PVP?? Really?

Regular readers of my blog, will know my feelings regarding PVP.  I think you are all nuts!

However, when 2v2 teams came into the game, hubby and I created a team, and I was in a 3v3 and 5v5 with some then guildmates.  So, what are we talking…BC if memory serves me correctly?  We rocked that 2v2 team – he played his shammy and I was on my mage and we won about 50% of the matches we entered.  To be honest that was about 50% more than I thought I would ever win.  But we had fun doing it, I wasn’t in it for the rating or the OMG MUST KILL thing…I was just enjoying an aspect of my favourite game.

Due to an issue on our 5v5 team and in particular with a guildie who hated me for a reason I am still trying to work out, we ended up moving guilds and starting up our guild, the pvp fell by the wayside.

Anyway, the last couple of nights we have been doing some random BG’s, and I have actually been enjoying myself, in fact, on my mage, I have been dying less than I normally do.  Of course I have only 2 pieces of PVP gear at the moment, but I am starting to get interested in it again.

I had not done any of the new BG’s side from Strand of the Ancients before the last few nights and I have to admit the influx of achievements has been a little encouraging 🙂  I even looked into starting up a 2v2 team again….shame!

Stupidly, I bought a war raptor on my druid to add to the collection of account wide mounts (I hope) for MoP:

Not realising that in the 15 minutes after doing that people would decide they wanted to start PVPing and I just wasted a buttload of honour points 😦  At least it was my druid and not my mage, who the night before spent all 4000 of my justice points on enchanting mats figuring I would never use them for gear 😦

Anyway, I managed to get the following achievements (and even a couple of them on my druid as well in consequent BG’s when I did them on her).  The guild even scored a few more PVP achievements, which is pretty sweet – all we need now is a Dwarf mage and lock….for the class slayers 😀

So in no particular order :p

Also got this on my druid now

MUHAHAHHA

Killers aren’t we?

I had fun, I am looking at some PVP spec for my mage, likely I will just go frost or fire, leaning towards fire  🙂  We shall see what happens.

Pussy Plate?

I read this post today @ clear casting, one of my regularly read blogs and I did have to have a chuckle.

I am a victim of the slutty clothes wearing avatar…although my reason for it is simple I have an outfit for each of my mage specs…My fire spec is all red and fleshy because I get hot and flustered casting pyro’s and fireballs, my frost set is more covered and blue to keep me warm and my arcane spec is currently a work in progress with mostly covered but not over the top and is all purples/pinks….

I don’t think my choice of clothes has any relevance to what kind of person I am – other than perhaps slightly OCD about having different sets for my specs….

Of course I tend to see transmog like an invisibility cloak almost – it is only made to look like the gear – not replace it, so I am – in theory – not really going up against a dragon wearing nothing….I still have my full gear on protecting my naughty bits….I guess it is just the difference in my mind 🙂

The comments made on Clearcasting’s thread were worth a read though 🙂

Raiding as fire

I did my first raid the other night as full fire, and it was…interesting….to say the least…I suck at rotations at this stage…I kept getting flustered when things would proc, I have also discovered my UI SUCKS! I have cast bars over other bars and I can’t see boss debuffs, and I can’t seem to locate my dot timers….heheh

I must fix it this weekend. Hopefully before tomorrow night. I also need to make some stop cast macros as I need to get my pyro off asap and not waste time…anyway, these are all things you learn when you change specs 🙂 In all honesty I have just put up with my ui because it is such a daunting task to redo it all….and with arcane I really only needed to watch one thing….

My dps was a little touchy, but that was to be expected given I am learning rotations and getting frustrated with myself when i got it wrong. I was up there at 23k sometimes and then as low as about 12k…most of the time I was in between those…..it’s very spiky damage and I really can’t just look at a dps meter at the end of a fight and expect that to show me anything much….I really should look at the logs and see how I went and what I need to cut out on and who i can compare myself to 🙂

Aside from that I am enjoying fire, there is something satisfying about pyroblasting something three times in a row when you get a great proc run 😀

I am off to do my Ui now….it is going to take me a while and we are raiding tomorrow….so I have to have it done before then.

I uploaded the guild’s Lord Ryo kill onto my youtube page as well, and I am hoping to get the baleroc one up there tonight – if I remember to set it to upload before I go to bed tonight.
