MIA and time to catch up!

Happy New years and all that jazz!!!  I hope everyone had a great night?  Tell me stories!!  heehh

Mine was a very quiet night, the weather was too hot to permit much drinking, so we just chilled out and leveled worgens 🙂  Yes our new years tradition is LANning at a friends place and playing WoW/Drinking/Chatting 😀  It has become a tradition of sorts and we always have fun 😀  We missed out on the fireworks in a major city though  😦

I have been popping into game every few days and doing bits and pieces, I am only 30% off hitting level 85, so I am slowly getting there.  I have had a recent spat of achievements though and that is pretty exciting 🙂

Cataclysm begninng to suck

I am officially over it. 

I am about 3 bubbles away from 84 and I don’t think I want to put up with the shit anymore.  I love the game, but seriously the people should all be shot in the damn head and never allowed to play.  I would love for a server where i don’t have to play with people that piss me off….yeah fairly broad range I would probably be playing by myself most of the time, no different to now really.

Today’s tirade is brought to you by LFD tool.  I was just queued up for 35 minutes, I got into the instance and the leader asked me to leave so he could level a guildie.  I had just gotten into a fucking run!  I made some comment and then just dropped group, being asked that just pissed me off and so I knew I was likely to be pissed at the entire group.  Yeah pretty lame I know, but it just pisses me off that I queue for 35 minutes, get stuck with a deserter buff because a guildie can’t run some fucking quests…..my second experience in running dungeons has not been any better than my first.

Let me tell you about my first dungeon experience, tank kept running in and pulling mobs, groups of them, inevitably we would get a second group and we would die.  This happened about 4 times, he then went off at the DPS for not targeting the correct mobs….on that specific pull mind you – he went with one of thr DPS outside, I was trying to sheep a caster that was attacking the healer and I am pretty sure our last DPS was attacking the mob he wanted.  We wiped on every trash pull and in the end after about 6 deaths and 50g, and then being told we were not doing enough dps because he saw someone doing 15k dps and we sucked, I decided to drop group…..

This does not include all the wankers out there stealing mobs, asking how to do a quest instead of reading the damn thing and generlaly just being a nuisance in game.  I have logged out now as I am just too annoyed at once again not getting anywhere.

I am also pissed at hubby and co, as we were supposed to be starting a guild together and now neither of them are showing any interest which means I could have been levelling with people and getting a guild built up, instead I am having to deal with buttmonkeys……GAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Almost 83

Yeah I am a slow arse I know, but I am just kind of enjoying the ride to 85, last time; when levelling to 80, I rushed through and then was bored waiting for others to catch up.  So this time I am just getting there in my own time.

I haven’t really had much of a chance to play anyway, I have just been so busy, but this week I plan to get to 85 and then start on my warrior whilst levelling my professions on my mage.  A bit of down time never hurt anyone!

I like Hyjal, am glad it is over though, I was getting a little drained towards the end of it.  I am currently questing in Deepholm, which I love, it’s a lovely area.  I attempted to run an instance this morning, one of the ones in deepholm, and it was so fail I ended up leaving after the 4th wipe.  The tank would just run in and grab mobs, no CC, and no explanation, so I was trying to my best to keep mobs of the healers and then he would have a go about not targetting the right mobs etc.  Well I am sorry, I haven’t been here before and a little pre information would be more useful than post degradation.  So I left.  I decided I qould be better of questing trhen spending hours wiping because they want to be big shots.

Bah humbug is all I have to say!!  🙂

All good though, I will jump back in shortly and get to 83 tonight, if I can.  I am going to see MUSE tomorrow night so I doubt I will be playing much, so wanna get there before the end if the week!!!

This is likely going to be a massively long post, with pictures and all, so I will be placing it behind a cut for you to read over at your leisure 😀  Follow me through to my initial thoughts on Cata during day 1 and 2 of my experience. 

To make this a more comprehansive topic, I created a goblin toon as well and played through the starting area to get a better feel of what changes have been made, some of the things were before Cata in the last patch, but to me they make up the cata offering, so please don’t get pedantic about it being released 2 weeks before cata 🙂

Yup, finally got it!!

I spent about 2 hours the other night trying to to get to Exodar to do the final table, but for some reason I just kept doing things wrong. I kepy drowning of fatigure trying to get to teldrassil, kept forgetting to use my water walking potion The the guards would be kill me before I had a chance to get onto the boat once I got onto Teldrassil, being they are level 85 now I must have managed to just run the exact path that gathered them all.

In the end I begged my husband to come with me so he could sacrifice himself and attract the guards whilst I ran through….We did this quote successfully and he said to me “Um what was so hard about that???” and I just felt so dumb……until I noticed him at a third health and shielded and healing…ahhhh so it was almost death for you as well…..hehehe

Anyway I am glad I got it done, means I have another pet, and another title 😀

I have also collected all the new tabards for the main cities – except undercity i think…I need to find their quartermaster, but pretty cool that I have a bunch of new tabards to wear. I don’t need the rep – except for the new Bilgewater Cartel obvioulsy once Cata drops. I am hoping they create some new achievements for collectors as we have gone stale – although I do still need to work on my mount one…I am 83 of 100….

Patch day :D

So sad I didn’t get to log in this morning briefly before I had to go to work 😦  and I will be home late tonight so won’t get online until probably 9-10pm :!

So many things I am looking forward to in this patch 🙂

Mainly having to regem all my gear for just int, get rid of all those extra stats and crap – I like 🙂  I have to investigate crit/haste before I go too nuts but YAY no more SP!!!

All the new Guild interface options of professions etc will be awesome, can’t wait to have a fiddle with all that :

The normal UI looks heaps better as well, loving the spell book.

and last but not least:

POLYMORPH MONKEY!!!!!!! OH HELL YES!!!  Shame it is a glyph – am actually annoyed I won’t be able to have both penguin and monkey – or maybe I can?  No idea…will find out tonight when I go and have a squizz 😀

Why am I doing this again?

So it looks as though the triad will be creating a guild again for raiding…however I am not going to be anything other than an admin type person who looks after the bank.  I am not going to be GL, and I am not going to have any input about booting people if needed.

I am a softy and I would never boot people, but hubby and Co are the ones who have the ability to.  So I am just going to trust their judgments and hope like hell they don’t boot everyone we get in 😀 hehehe

We are still in planning phases, and we are going to check out blizzcon before we get any firm decisions in place as we want to know what kind of time frame and GAME Blizz are going to be sending us 😀

Essentially though, we are only going to be raiding Wednesday and Sunday (tbc morning or afternoon) and the rest of the time we can just enjoy running heroics, farming, levelling alts etc.  We are all not wanting to get sucked into the full time raiding thing again and we are hoping there are others like us.

Like us means = people who know their class, read up about it, enjoy killing things, don’t want to play with people who don’t know how to move out of the fire etc, but in the end don’t have all the time in the world to raid…

We were in a horde guild very briefly that raided on a Friday night – for about 5 hours…that was it and they were almost surpassing the alliance guild I was in which raidied MOn, Wed Thus and some Sundays…..so it is possible to get through content.

So today I am going to investigate the guild and raid information that is currently avaialble from the BETA and the PTR etc and see what information I can glean that would be important or useful 😀

April fools day? Or good changes?

So they are changing cataclysm a little bit. I would have been upset about the guild achievements being removed, but well I am not overly upset now 🙂

I like some of the changes, but not sure about others. Doesn’t really matter to be honest, I love the game and they would have to really screw it up for me to not want to play 🙂

I will just wait and hope it means it will come out sooner now!!! Fingers crossed anyway 🙂

3 level 80's and no money

I think that is why I have nomoney to be honest…I relaly need to start doing my dailies on them all, i just can’t seem to find the time to get them done…no that’s a lie, I just prefer standing in Dalaran wasting time than doing dailies!!

How do poeple find the energy and motivation to do the dailies on mulitple toons when I can’t even do it on one toon?

Time to crack the whip I think and start saving….I want to have money heaing into cata, I have a feeling flying is going to cost like 80000000 for the newer faster level (if there is one).

We are the lucky ones

Last night before raid I was trolling a few blogs as I always do, and i noticed a theme, so many people are having trouble getting people to log on for raids because Cataclysm is coming….now I agree, it is coming – at some point, in the future, but as for when? Hell we have only just been thrown the beta opt in and from past experience, that will take at least a few months, let’s say ballpark 3….then add 2 months for the release date and actual launch etc.

So that is still a very long time to be not raiding or doing anything in game except standing around twiddling thumbs? I plan to cut raiding off once we have a confirmed release date AND after we have killed the Lich King a couple of times. I am pretty sure most of the guild would be ok with that, most of my guild though, want to see the Lich King Dead, so we are all pretty motivated to do that 😀

I have so much to do once an announcement has been made about release, I have to consider, once again what I want from the game, how to implement that with the guild and not lose people 😀 , I have to re-do the website – it is in need of a major overhaul, and the guild needs a major overhaul, and I need to toughen up as a guild leader if we stay together as a guild and move forward. The guild as it currently is, is almost in a state of perfection, yes we have shitty nights, and yes we grumble and grizzle, but we have the best group of players right now, better even than the players we had back in SSC/TK days….This group has the potential to do so much and move through content so quickly….everyone single person picks up strats so damn fast, we spend a couple of shots wiping, then you can tell when people understand the fight….I know we could be awesome…..however I digress….massive tangent there….

I would be heartbroken if we were like those other guilds struggling to get raids happening, yeah this week has been slow for us, but we have 5 people down, out of a 14 man raider base, shit happens really, and from next week everyone will be back on board anyway. We really are the lucky ones that we have found 13 other people who are just as motivated and enjoy raiding as much as each other.

I do love my guildies and I am so glad we have worked so hard to get this group to where it is. Hopefully being that we are coming into a new expansion with a great group, we won’t lose anyone and be behind the eightball. It is my fault really – every time new content comes out I move or change the guild and it sets us back, this time I am hoping everyone will stay together and we will be able to level quickly and get back into raiding really fast 😀

Around and About

So, I though I should add to the buzz about Cata and add some screenies of areas in the game that may be getting overhauled and changed etc that I really adore, there aren’t all that many to be honest, I like lots of places but, as usual, when trying to remember exactly where, I tend to forget…the major problem with my plan was two things, I loved Dalaran and would have taken an entire roll of film on the pink bubble….but well, we all know what happened there, and a lot of my favorite places are actually in Outland and therefore not being altered that we know about 😀

So I trundled about and found some nice shots for you, well I hope they are nice, they could suck immensely 😀  I have had to place the thumbnails here, so click on them for the full versions.  I didn’t want to cut them down in size to fit the style of my blog as I think it would lose the beauty 😀

Stormwind!  My first character (still the one i plat as my main) 5 years later is still in awe when she walks into this city.  I love this screenie!  I really love it.

Exodar, yes I know not entirely valid as not likely to be mutated, but It is still one of the prettiest cities!

Boating into Auberdine always impresses me with the super long dock and the wonderful boats anchored….

The Shrine.  This was one of the most wonderful things I ever noticed in game, and was even more impressed when i read up about what it was for. Blizz never disappoint when it comes to adding memorials for those who loved the game.

Barrens Wildlife 🙂  I had just come down from the shrine when these little guys ran straight up to me.  One of the things I hope they add more off in Cata 😀

If I get a chance I may do some more in the next few weeks….we’ll see how that goes!

Mage class preview changes

So I waited patiently, reading all the other class changes, excited and in awe that we we re getting provided with any information prior to release 😀

FINALLY!!! THEY POSTED MAGE ONES!!
Anyway, it was almost the 11th April here when they finally went up, so don’t tell me i wasn’t patient 😀

Mage changes are pretty nice, i don’t want to play arcane – will defintely be looking into fire or frost..probably frost as that has been the spec I have wanted to play for a while.

I am not going to go through all the changes as any bloggers that read this will already know what they are. But I am excited to be able to see what kind of things they are thinking.

I am amazed though that so many people are angry at the changes, I men they haven’t even released the game, you haven’t even played it yet and you want to bitch, well to be honest, I have not disliked much that blizz have done, I enjoy the game an I think ultimately if Blizz breaks something they do fix it – eventually 🙂

I am excited!!!

Ulduar Hardmodes and general stuff

Guild makes me want to cry!!!

The 1 month I am not online is the month they FINALLY decide to start doing some hardmodes and achievement runs in Uld/TOC – I could kill them!!!

Apparently we have jumped from 69th to about 53rd or something in the last 2 weeks, which is kind of cool 🙂

I am glad they are managing to get some achievements done, good to see them working together 😀

I am suffering some major withdrawals, I know everyone says that, but I am seriously suffering, I keep thinking of different areas in the game I want to just ride through, or places I enjoyed whilst levelling, and just a general buzz when I think of the game…I am pathetic I know…but I just can’t help it!!

My hubby has basically given the game away I think, he is pretty much over it, still enjoy it too much to want to quit, so I will be bringing my pally to the alliance side and should hubby decide to take up the game again after Cataclysm I will switch a toon hordeside again.

I wish we could get more information about Cata!! I really want to learn more about the guild achievements and I want to knwo what to expect and if a guild restructure can occur perhaps, I really want to get into 25 mans for Cata….either this guild or join another….I want to be at the forefront of raiding – I am not meaning server firsts – but I am sick of being last to be raid ready….that’s just me being selfish though 😀

Anyway only 3 weeks to go then I should be back online!!! THREE WEEKS!!!! SQUEEEE!!! I hate moving!!! am just on the last leg of packing – will be starting the entire cleaning process this week and planning for our new PC’s 🙂 mmmmmm New computers that can let me have my details settings on high and let me not drop below 65 fps in Dalaran – yes that is my aim!!

AND OMG I can do my UI again and have it the way I want it – with sexymap running and mmm, so many other little gems!! God I am getting more excited about my new computer than anything else at the moment 🙂 !!!

Are you a selfish guildie?

A few of my guildies and I have been discussing lately the selfishness that appears to be virulent our guild at the moment.

I have always tried to put the guild before my own wants in the game, I expect any guild leaders would do the same. I think about what will make the guild better overall and not about what loot I can get from what place. Yes I know I have BiS gear – but I don’t care if I get it or not first or before everyone else. I don’t care about my GS – it doesn’t say whether I can play or whether I can stand out of the fire, I don’t care about the couple of pixels that boost my spell power by 12 for a few weeks…..none of that will make a difference if we are unable to recruit people to the guild who can play.

Recently it was advised to me, that no one wants to do anything else but ICC, they don’t want to finish Uld (we got to Yogg just as ICC came out), no one wants to finish TOGC (We have Anub left with 43 wipes available), everyone wants to focus on ICC and spend all their time in there and do nothing but it.

Now, I am all for that if you are in a guild that is more progressed than us and has a stellar group of people to work with , they were probably clearing all the content within 2 weeks and so have been farming it ever since and doing hardmodes etc, but we are not that kind of guild. We still have gear upgrades and skills which could be learnt in those older encounters – but apparently not according to a couple of people – who, for your reference, spend all their time in game and so can pug 25 mans whenever they feel like it – therefore no they probably don’t need upgrades.

The rest of us plebs who don’t have as much game time DO need upgrades from TOGC and heroic modes etc, but our needs are invalid.

So I went to my Shadow council and ask their opinion and was told I was in fact being misinformed, that many people do need upgrades from other places.

I should point out that my mates are the type who have changed toons for the guild, have changed specs, for the guild, have picked up two sets of gear to be raid ready and are always offering to be whatever the guild needs – they don’t take gear unless shoved down their throats, they don’t whinge about gear, the don’t whinge about progression (ie which place we go), they are the type of guildies that make it a worthwhile guild.

But why is it all about the gear – killing the next boss in ICC is so much harder if all the people in the guild don’t have the gear from the previous level. All i want is for people to play well and then think of the guild getting upgrades and not themselves.

Cataclysm will either make or break that mentality with the whole guild achievements 🙂 I can’t wait for that – I may actually be able to be part of a guild that is like the majority of us. Good players, who put guild first and have fun with each other.

Blizzcon 09

So we bought the blizzcon via internet stream and watched it this weekend 🙂

So many good things coming out of the xpac 😀

Gear Stats :
Mp5/Spellpower/Defence/armour penetration – all gone!

Healers will now need spirit as mana regen. DPS will now need int for power. No spirit on mage/warlock gear ever again. Defence may end up being a talentable stat instead of gear based. Agility now = 2 AP for classes like rogues etc again.

Hunter mana – gone! Now have 100 focus as per other classes like rogues/warriors etc

Warlock soul shards – gone from bags – part of game play now

Guild advancement – have a talent tree for guilds now, you earn points for killing bosses/guild achievements etc which you can use to get talents like, mass ressing the raid/mass summon of the raid/ lower durability for wipes etc.

LFG – Cross server functionality now. (coming in patch 3.3 if they can make it work by then)

New secondary profession – archaeology – find relics around the world and opens up new glyphs which are NOT part of inscription.

Professions now have multiple gains – so can make a blue chst for 5 skill ups or 5 green bracers for 5 points – means things you make can be more useful as you level a profession.

Reforging – classes like tailoring/BS/LW etc can take a peice of gear and alter the stats on it. Ie lessen the stam on the item for more spirit. Cannot add more of the same stat on the gear, so can’t lower stam for added spirit (if spirit is on the gear already).

New races – Worgens/Goblins.

4 new raids, heaps new dungeons – heroic Deadmines and heroic shadowfang Keep.

Level 85 is the new level cap.

Flying in all of Azeroth once you hit 85.
