Raiding…can it really be you?

So, after much turmoil, discussion and weighing of our options, hubby and I have decided to just stay where we are. Blizzard really need to come up with a bulk transfer option for moving toons.  Neither of us could justify spending the money to move all our toons back to horde (given we just switched alliance) and to another server to start life up again.

I feel bad for Frosties as I had planned to be with them, but I just can’t justify it in my mind.  I can’t even really commit to a raid team due to my work roster and I would hate to jeopardize a raid team or not even raid very often because of my shifts.

This fortnight is ok, I am on earlies, but the next couple of weeks are late and that means I may not be home in time to start raids.  It will be like this until I change jobs.

Anyway we decided to stay on Nagrand and just raid with some blogging friends of mine.  They are nice and funny and so far in the two raids we have been in, we have had a lot of laughs and boss kills.

We did normal 10 man – killed a few bosses, both hubby and I got some upgrades – Sha of Pride first, I died on the trash :p, Galakras was defeated Iron Juggernaut caused us a couple of wipes due to positioning and really..OWWIES!!!, Dark Shaman was another couple of wipes – positioning and again OWWIES! also lag for our healers was not helping, but got there in the end – I love that fight!!  Love it!! So much crazy in one space! Also scored a groovy achievement on Nazgrim, I died a horrible burning death on that fight.

We attempted Malkorok, but wiped a couple of times without killing him, I blame myself really, about half way through the raid I lost my focus due to some of the discussion happening and I couldn’t seem to get my focus back.  Really I forgot the problem with being in a guild is the triggery stuff that gets said.

The next night we went back in and did Siegecrafter (I died – as I always do on that fight), I just haven’t got my grove with that one yet, paragons and we then Garrosh – with a cool achievement :

Garrosh, was technically easy, but the strat was different and I wasn’t really sure if I was supposed to be in or out, but overall not really bad.  I died because we got told to wait during one of the intermissions but someone in my group went in and I wasn’t fast enough to get out of the purple stuff – I got stuck on the stairwell and had nowhere to go 😦

It was so much fun to be raiding again, I still feel bad I am not with the Frosties, but my pally is still there and I do plan on playing her a lot, she is one of my favourite toons after all, but until it becomes cheaper to move multiple toons I can’t justify it.  You would think at this point when people have multiple alts – for levelling or banking – it gets very expensive.  😦  Happy and Sad panda!

Puny Mortal

Oh yes, I killed your Sha, I collected your masks, slayed your Mantid, threw your damn stones and farmed your striped Melons!!!….and then I finally – FINALLY got your damn bag!!

Whether I pay 7k for a mount in the near future is yet to be seen!  But you my dear August Celestials can go and…well…just go somewhere away from me.

I despise you for providing such crappy amounts of rep and taking forever to get through…the bag is an upgrade of 2 slots…it isn’t worth the hassle you have caused!

On the upside I had made enough cloth for 2 bags, so one for me and one for hubby. I may be able to make another one tonight…we shall see!

I am so glad I have gotten to exalted.  No I have Kirin Tor/Klaxxi as my main ones next.  Then it’s the horrible Timeless Isle and Operation Shieldwall – if I can bring myself to do them.

I will start doing the dailies on another toon now as hubby is still not exalted, but not on my mage, I am done.

I am coming for you….

Stupid Pandaria Cooking…stupid obsession for having things maxxed out on my mage…stupid vegetables…yes….all stupid!!  However after spending another couple of thousand gold I am finally making headway into the cooking!

Stupidly (seems to be the word today), I forgot about using the DMF to get 5 points until my hubby reminded me and since the last one I have been doing the SW daily cooking quest to level instead of making the required food.

Yes…that is everything I have been working towards…Finally!!  But not one to stop when I am having a good day, I managed to get the following as well :

 

 

 

And sometime after getting that done, I realised how close I was and decided to get this little gem because I was dying to get rid of that quest for making a best friend on my farm.

Sadly, she doesn’t actually do anything useful, I was hoping she would you know..actually work on my farm :p

Either way, I have a few more to go, I need to do some fishing and stockpile some more money 🙂  But I have maxxed cooking in my sights!

Brawlers Guild

I am no longer a Brawling Virgin.  I decided to just jump in today and see how badly I could fail.  Turns out…I did better than I expected I would do.  I am currently level 6 and it really didn’t take all that long. I stupidly, attempted a level 7 mob from the start and I think I was a little confused about  how easy that one would be.  I had a quest from my garden which gave me a challenge card….after dying about 4 times, I decided I would just start from the beginning 🙂

Bruce was so darn easy…I was fine up until I got to :

It took me about 10 attempts to kill him, I was so frustrated by the end of it, but I kept getting caught in his ground effect even though it looked as though my toon was well out of the way – clearly blink doesn’t work as well as I expected :p  In the end I kicked his butt!!!!

I did manage to fudge through one boss, for some reason, someone was in the ring fighting their boss and I got pulled in for mine – at the same time – but when the other guy killed his mob it counted towards me having killed mine.  Confused?  I know I am still wondering how that happened, it was completely weird…

Hubby decided to come and join me as well, and we were cheering each other on as you do.  I do love the cam view you can use which makes it look like you are right in the arena with them…pretty cool really.

I will definitely be going back to the brawlers guild, it was a lot of fun and gives you some other small thing to challenge yourself with.  I like it. A lot!  Anyone else out there doing this?

Shado-Pan and challenges

WOOT!!  Shado-pan exalted!!  Pretty excited to be honest – how could you not be after everything.

However the gorgeous mounts you get for exalted rep are a must have.  I bought them all (of course) and aside from the issue I have with the tail, they are very nice to look at – remember I am completely in love with any pussy cat mounts!

I also did the Defender of the gods quest and scored the grey cloud mount, which is pretty nice, but I still prefer my blue one.

This now puts me at 54 reputations at exalted.  I am currently still working on August Celestials (grrr) and have started working on my Anglers rep currently Friendly I think, I also have Klaxxi and Kirin Tor at Revered – but haven’t been doing the dailies for them much, I am just needing to do something else for a little bit.  I am using my farm to do August Celestials and Klaxxi/Kirin for the moment.  I do want to get back into the dailies, but some of them (kirin tor) take sooo long with so many quests it drives me slightly batty.

Pet Battles

After much deliberation I have started on the happy and excruciating task of killing poor little creatures in an attempt to level my pets.  So far, I have found it annoying, and depressing and overall, I am not sure I am cut out for it in the long run.  I can’t bring myself to kill the other animals, so I have been capturing them and releasing them when I get three of them.  Is that pathetic or  what?  Don’t get me started on the guilt when I kill one by accident 😦  Yet, when mine get killed do you think there is any remorse from the other animals???  NO !!!  And the jerk pet trainers laugh at me!!  And Cheer!!!  it’s horrid….

I have a couple of different teams, only because I am trying to get them to the same level so I can go to the same areas and train them all up at once, I have a couple at level 5 through to 9 and then a few between 3 and four.  Currently I am levelling: onyxia, voodoo figurine, Panther cub, Chuck, disgusting oozeling, darkmon glowfly, squirrel and murkablo.  I have a couple of others I want to level, but since they are poor quality I am reticent to do so.  The little black ram is awesome, but I need to capture some more to find an uncommon one at least…or..maybe I should just use the upgrade thing I got in a supply bag…yeah I might do that!!

I was running around loch modan then decided to read some guides by a few bloggers, this lead me to battling trainers, currently I am unable to best the trainer in STV as my pets are too low. I need to spend more time levelling them.

I do wonder if i need to set up some toons with set teams and just move them around. Is that easier? Honestly I don’t know…my original plan was to get them in the same rough area, then level 3 to the next area, get the next group up to the same level, then keep going until the current lot are maxxed for the zone, then move on.  But it is taking much much much longer then I anticipated.  I think I need to start killing the creatures 😦

For all my effort i have managed to score some achievements!

More to come, I am sure, if I continue to level them before the boredom sets in.  However I would like to at least attempt the Celestial tournament thingie….one day

My warrior makes the cut!

My baby warrior is finally 90!

I have very special feelings for both my mage and my Warrior as they are the same toons I have had since Vanilla, they have gone through moves, changes and factions with me and are the only two characters I have had since then.  My priest was created in BC, and she is the next oldest toon I have.

My warrior started out as a my wait toon, back in the day before btags, when you had to be on a toon that people could see you on to get credit for DKP.  I never really leveled her all that much, I more sat around in the main cities chatting to the guildies that were waiting with me, but I could never let her languish because of that connection I forged with her.

So she makes the 4th toon to 90 that I have and is now mostly decked out in Timless isle gear already, I had three pieces which I took off my pally (shoulders, legs and boots) and whilst opening chests I found braces, gloves, chest, trinket, helm and ring…not too bad for a about 40 minutes of death…yes I was getting my butt handed to me by all the rares 🙂  I only mention the gear because I found this achievement quite funny when I got rid of one of my rings :

That is for superior items with a minimum of 333 in all slots…That’s where I was at gear wise trying to kill mobs on the Timeless Isles…just think about that for a moment….333!!  Crazy…that is me 🙂

I also laughed when I got this achievement when I landed…Clearly I have no idea how I managed to actually get to 90 doing so few quests??  I must have done dungeons for one levelling period or something??  No idea…

Comparatively my mage has done 7946 quests according to the statitics tab 🙂  I love it!

So deciding what toon to level next?  Shammy who is already 85 or hunter or priest…soo undecided….

BA Shared Topic – Oaths

What vows would your character say, intend, or break, and to what allegiance? Would it be to class/race/specialization, deity, or ruler? This is quite a challenging Blog Azeroth topic, however, I know you are all up to it because you are amazing writers.

I found this one a hard one…many of my readers would know, I am not a very good writer, in fact I would go so far as to say I suck!!  Thinking about oaths and actually coming up with how to formulate those ideas into words was a struggle, however I believe I have come up with something that is only mildly crap :p

The thing you have to understand with my mindset about my toons is I don’t really care about the faction that are in.  If they are alliance, they hate horde or whatever the larger evil is (death wing anyone), and same with my horde toons, they typically hate the alliance.  The issue I have found is that my toons have been back and forth so many times in their life, I tend to just see them as their class and leave it at that.  I wrote some oaths trying to express how my main characters see their life and any oaths they may have taken to continue on their chosen path (horde or alliance 🙂  – yes I know a whole bunch of friends just screamed that I have to choose a side!!!)

My warrior has taken the following oath:
I pledge my life for yours to protect you from all danger and spill the blood of our enemies, before a drop of yours is shed. I shall honour our earth, I shall cleanse in the water, I shall breath in the air, I shall feast with our clan by the fire.  Always must I believe my shield is as important as my heart, and should one break the other will follow.  I am more than my weapon, and my scars will ever be a reminder of the trials we have suffered and the battles we have won.

My Paladin took:
The light shall absolve me; in the light, I shall triumph. Any pain shall be healed, any fear will be quelled. Within the light we will become one, our triple aspect becoming greater than any evil our world can attempt to destroy me with. Protection, healing and killing shall be my future with the understanding I must remember to always protect those who cannot protect themselves. This is my oath until the light leaves my body for the last time.

My Mage:
We bring the storms and we can bring the calm. Working 9-5

Such a busy morning, I didn’t sleep very well so was up well before I should have been! I decided I wanted to focus on my professions a little and stop avoiding the things I knew I had to get done.

Finally, maxxed my fishing, I had been sitting at something like 580 so I just had to get off my butt and do those last 20 points!!

I then stupidly decided to try and sort out my cooking. I am appalled to admit this, but blizzard have failed on this one. I am not normally one to dis the blizz – I am obsessed with their game, I generally try and be positive and understand the decisions they make.  But pandaren cooking = fail of epic proportions!

I need more iron paw tokens, I needs hundreds of vegetables and hundreds of meats/fish and I only have 16 plots which give me  bunches of 5. That is not cool, fun or interesting.  I spent 3.5k on the AH today and I still only have about half the mats I need for each of the specialised cooking. Never mind my actual cooking is not 600 because the masts required are stupidly ridiculous.

I did get some achievements for increasing my cooking skills a little bit:

I think iron chef in Japan would be easier to win than maxing my cooking!

I managed to complete the quest for the deluxe noodle cart which unlocked a scenarios and another even more impossible noodle cart!  The scenario would have been more fun, if it had worked properly – food wasn’t going to the people I clicked and, or it just wouldn’t get thrown, people wouldn’t sit down and the entire experience was more frustrating than anything else.  After the annoyance of not being able to actual level, spending so much money and getting barely any fish from pools and the crappy scenario, I admitted defeat! I do not know if and when I will be able to max my cooking.

after the cooking I decided to focus on my inscription on my priest, double score with this one as I helped the guild as well!

This then scored us :

So now I just need to deal with this stupid cooking! ANY TIPS WELCOME!!

 

And the dailies keep on spinning

You just have to find interesting things to do when you are doing the same things every day, so chasing achievements is what we are doing…some times…when we remember 🙂 Nothing much has been happening other than just playing with toons and keeping busy with the huge amount of stuff I still want to get done before any new xpacs.

“Dog pile” to get started, wish I had a picture of 30 mobs on me and arcane explosion going off!  I have to get the one with the field of fire/swords, but I honestly have no idea how i am going to do that one…more investigation needed on that front. You have to do it and take no damage?? Whaaaa????

I also scored a shado-pan achievement I didn’t even know was there! I love the surprise ones the best! Yes, I felt incapable of trimming my dragon out – that would be blasphemy!

We also finally decided to get this dinosaur, Eros, killed, it has been in our  logs for a few weeks as he was killing us really quickly when we attempted it last time we decided to leave it until we had better gear or an actual group.  We happened upon someone mid kill and decided to help him out with it, turns out he was willing to do it a second time for us as well.  It was an awful fight and I am dreading doing the  next part which requires us to summon another 4 mobs!!  Anyhoo, shout out to Candaris on our server for helping and being awesome enough to help us with the kill.  You are super special and we really appreciated it!

I have created a little lowbie Tauren monk to run around on with the frostiness, being sick with shingles as I am, I am pretty tired and effort required to play at 90 is more than I can handle.no idea how far I will go with it, but it gives me something to just veg with.

 

Can’t get no….satisfaction

I wonder if I am showing my age, or music preference, by the title and image??  Anyway,  Last night was pretty limited game time, just doing my dailies on my mage..stupid august Celestials!!  I am going to scream like a crazy woman!!  I am even doing the Tiller daily for the extra rep with both Shadow Pan and August Celestials.  I just want the pattern for that stupid bag!!

Both me and hubby on his tailor, have been making cloth every single day so we can make some bags when we get the pattern, but it is seriously going to cause me mental breakdown.

I think I have just hit revered with Shadow Pan – Woot for extra rep token and I am just into honoured for the Celestials…HONOURED!!??!!!?  GAHHHH!!!!  At  this rate I will be exalted by the time Warlords comes out… :p  In truth though, I think I have done really well to get my reps up as much as I have since being back at the start of December.  I really don’t know how you guys – or anyone – managed to get to exalted with them!!  I really don’t!!  Tips appreciated!!

I really want to start working on my Anglers and I should try and get the last bit of the Klaxxi done – I have extra rep now so it really wouldn’t take all that long, anyway every night it depends on my time available…how many quests I can get done in between everything else I need to get done.

On a side note, I bought my hubby they Fey Dragon mount as a present 🙂  He was mentioning how he liked it so I sent it to him as the pack with the brew dog.  We may have missed the Make-a-wish donation, but it was still cheaper to buy the set.  I have been asking me to send me pictures, I am sure all you obsessed people will understand why…and the pictures he has been sending me are completely impossible….the first two examples you will find below…and after I advised him to send me a picture with the actual dragon in it, he finally did 🙂

I did giggle….not a collector or obsessive blogger but I appreciated the effort he put in, he could have chosen not to send me images, which I may have had to kill him for later!  This is one of the next pictures i got, which is much better!!

I shall follow hubby around tonight and drool over his new mount because it is bloody awesome!!!  and I may take a few hundred pictures of it, but I won’t bore you guys with more images!

Sweet weapon and general maintenance

I realised I had not handed in my Wrathion quest after picking up the Chimera of Fear, so I trundled off to do that and discovered things about our leader I think is awfully sexy :p cage match anyone?? But also, he may not be the best person to lead the Alliance…or is he??  I felt he handled the situation with Garrosh well, but I would have preferred to see him slaughter in that lovely cinematic, but I can’t be mad at Thrall for stopping that…I have a soft spot for him.

The creation of a jewel was pretty cool as well, I loved how he added everything to it…such power!!

I am now up to the quest section that requires me to collect Valor points, so I basically will be spending the next few weeks just doing dailies/dungeons to make it happen.  Hubby needed the LFR as well as he didn’t realise he already had all the sigils he needed  So we jumped back there (we are now up to the same section of the quest!) and I was using my golden coins of fortune to roll for loot….I had more than 20 (I had some boxes in my bags that I couldn’t empty) so even though I was not able to receive loot from the usual method, rolling gave me loot.  Cheating??  maybe?

Anyway I scored weapons..every time…one cloak…but weapons and weapons and more weapons; one of them was this hot as hell dragonesque looking sword!!!  Which I stuck my brand new Sha crystal into from Wrathion…I will never get rid of this sword, and in fact I am thinking I may need to design an outfit to suit it…I love it….I had only just decided to get rid of my offhand and use a staff as well….but the second I saw this…I knew the staff was gone and my umbrella was back , until I find a replacement…must look up offhands that I can purchase with points somewhere…

Also discovered in my travels about the Exalted Tillers daily quests for other factions..oh my awesome!!!  I am doing Shado pan and August Celestials daily at the moment including their quests to help me get there faster.  I am still miles off being revered with either of them, but every little bit helps I am sure. If I can get her to revered and pick up the rep token it will make it much easier on my pally to start doing dailies and earning some rep and money.  I will try and log onto her this week and start getting some funds up…I can’t even afford to run LFD at this stage, no repair money, so I might just go DPS,  grab dailies and go crazy, it doesn’t take much to gather some gold that way.

On a side note, I don’t know what happened on my mage, but I have started to improve my DPS on her…on the LFR we were in I was doing in the realm of 120 – 140k consistently, of course not during the periods of crazy moving etc…I dropped to just above 100k, which I still think is ok.  I did some reading and found out 3 very valuable things…I was casting frostbolt occasionally…which is bad bad bad bad…I was also wasting a glyph spot for that and I was not using Alter Time properly. Now that I have corrected those two minor things it seems to be much better.  I am still not sure how it could change it that much…but I am not going to argue with maths and proof :p

I do need to spend some time with my boomy now that I have changed her stats around and see if it improves me or if i still suck at the gameplay aspect 🙂  It really could just be that I can’t play the spec. Of course I would be devastated, but life isn’t always fair is it? hehehe

 

Happy new year 2014!!!

Every year (except last year) my hubby and I play WoW with our besties; LAN party style. We take our macs over and we do random things, create lowbie toons, run dungeons, chase achievements, whatever is the excitement of the moment.

So this year we chased the Cata heroic dungeon achievement for something to do. We started with LFR as I had not yet done terrace of the endless spring. I hadn’t realised I needed it for the Wrathion quest line, but I was trying to get an achievement (sadly I need to do it in normal to get the tranquil achievement).

Anyway I started missing 14 of the required Cata achievements, and after a very successful night I only need 2 now. We stuffed up the Blackrock Cavern achievements, skullcrusher and ascending…just because we didn’t think it through very well or fast enough to reset the boss before they died. We really struggled with the halls of origination one with the stupid hymn of reverb and the snakes and the levers, I think we tried about 10 times and in the end gave up deciding to come back for it another day.

So here are all my achievements! I know you love seeing them all!!  Unfortunately, half of the screens ended up completely black…no idea why 😦  I am so depressed about it as I was so excited about the amount of them I had…..*sobs hysterically in the corner*

Dumbest things I have done recently

So returning to a game you love is pretty difficult because it is amazing the amount of information you forget that at one time seemed really important, but that you don’t realise you have forgotten, because like a remembral – you can’t remember what it is your forgot, even if you do know that you have forgotten something.

I have spent the last month trying to find Evocation in my spellbook, because I realised I had a glyph for it, but wasn’t using it. I spend about 15 minutes every night trying to find it thinking I have missed it on each page, I checked my talent trees to see if it something I needed to spec into now, and concluded I was crazy because it was gone.  I finally decided this morning to google it…turns out…I am using rune of power (duh – which I knew) but that is what replaces evocation!  IDIOT!!!  IDIOT!!!!!!

Of course, that is nothing compared to the idiocy of last night.  I discovered noxxic has a list of approx DPS at differing gear levels, which is goddamn fantastic!  I am of course nowhere near for any of my toons – but it certainly gives me something to aim for so I know what I should be doing.  Anyway I found this after some heroics last night in which my boomy could not get above 20k and infact the healer was beating me in kitty form as resto – she is very well geared though at 550 something whereas I am only barely scraping into the 470 area.  However according to noxxic I should be able to hit about 70k dps….LOL…sure thing buddy!!

I decided then to try and find more hit on my gear somehow, after complaining to the hubby about the lack of hit on boomy timeless isle gear and how I had to reforge all the spirit off because it was useless to me, he advised to check out Mr Robot. I was reticent, but did it anyway and it was telling me to reforge back into spirit – enter my tirade about spirit being useless I don’t need mana regen blah blah blah…..yeah…you can all laugh at me now.  Spirit = hit for some classes.  What is worse, after the hubby had finished laughing at me I remembered the hundreds of disputes I had seen in LFD because DPSers had taken gear with spirit (boomies and SP’s mainly – I am sure there was another class as well – I want to say shammies??).  How could I forget something so instrumental to the classes?

I guess this is the joy of coming back to a game 12 months later, you do forget things and need to spend time re-learning.  I know I am still trying to learn how to play again, I am better on my mage because I have played her for so long, but with other toons I am really struggling to get into the swing of it.  Heroics are also very hard as most of the time I am running with people who are very well geared and hitting the 180k+ DPS mark, which means mobs die faster than I can cast a spell – on both my mage and my boomy.  It makes it hard to see where I am sitting in reality and harder to judge what I need to improve.

I know on my mage in LFR I can sometimes be in the top 10 for damage and hitting just over 100k DPS, but according to noxxic I should be hitting 250k + dps…as a frost mage at my gear level and that is not maximum – that is realistic….no way!?!?!?!?  I have to spend some time on a dummy and test out wtf I am doing wrong as I am missing out on a lot of dps.  I need to examine combat logs of mages and see what they are doing that I am not.    Anyway, I am sure, like the previous things, there is something I have forgotten to do….I just have to find out what that is!!!

 

 

Guild update

I haven’t really spoken about the current guild situation, which is to say, we don’t really have one.  We are in the old guild we created with just our toons as we switch them over to alliance to play with our best mates, but we haven’t really considered our options in regards to the future, I don’t want to just be by ourselves as it makes it hard to find groups and meet people to actually talk to about the game.

The question was posed to me from a couple of my blogging friends, about our future plans so it got me thinking about what we actually want to do.  I have toons spread across 3 servers now and in the end I really only want to just be in a home again.

My priest is in Gen’s guild just slowly leveling and being a nuisance to the guildies who seem to be very non verbal when I am on my priest, so I could just be missing the exciting times :p. There was a plan to do some flexi’s with them, but I think poor Gen has taken a break and has probably disappeared into the Caverns of Time!! I just moved my pally over to my second home with Navi and the Frostwolves.  I confess to having further increased my soft spot for the frosties.  I read “Rise of the Horde” recently and Durotar of the Frostwolves was very noble and honourable, every time they said “Frostwolves” in the book I felt a little spasm of pride that I can consider myself one.  In name  – if not deeds just yet.

With xpac looming as well, it would be nice to figure out what we want to do. I know with my schedule I cannot commit to a raiding team unless they also have enough DPS they can rotate me out for the weeks I am on late shift.  Hubby has mentioned he would like to raid as it gives him something to always be looking into, takes his mind off work stress – which is a valid lifestyle choice in my opinion 🙂

I cannot imagine raiding on anything other than my mage, but I moved my pally (who is now 86.5) so I could do runs or flexis with the Frosties in any spec that was needed to fill the spots…if it comes up of course.  I know I can tank, and I was starting to heal on her and I have DPS’d on a pally…so I sort of have all bases covered should it be needed until the xpac.  I might add, thanks to the timeless isle, she has an entire set – excluding gloves and cloak of gear for when she hits 90..but only one set sadly.  Plan to get her leveled first before doing much else.

My druid now has both a resto and boomy set from the timesless isle as well, so that means I essentially have another toon I can flexi on.

In another fortnight I may just move my mage over to the Frosties, but given I just changed her alliance it will cost me a pretty penny..but I am still thinking I might just do that and be done with it.  I don’t want to make any decisions that will affect my hubby negatively though and so I am trying to get him into other guilds to meet people before making decisions.  I want to ensure he is happy, but he seems content to avoid people in game at the moment, and I don’t blame him – we haven’t really been successful with people in the past. Once bitten, twice shy?

Anyway we shall see how it pans out over the next fortnight.

Catch up….long post

ok, so I started blogging and then have been so addicted to the game I have done nothing but play.  So, this post will be an attempt at a full update which I can then proceed to update normally after 🙂 There is a lot in here, so bear with  me and enjoy the amount of stuff one person can get up to in just over a month.

Starting with my druid is now 90!!!  Woot 🙂  I love my boomy, as my old readers would know, I have however, never been able to play boomy – even after reading, testing and practising.  I love the spec…I just suck, but that should never stop you from playing – just don’t do it when it matters :p

My priest is now 81 – slowly getting her up, hubby and I are levelling together with his rogue.  I am enjoying playing a SP, but I do forget I have a heal button which can sometimes be very useful.  I haven’t had a change to get much past 81 as we have been busy doing dailies on our mains. I wish you got an achievement banner at every level, it would look so much better than 80!

Of course this leads to achievement chasing with so many different quest areas and achievements associated with them.  All of these have been done with just me as a frost mage and hubby on his SP so I think we are pretty awesome for having completed so many – and some were quite challenging in lower end gear.  There was the rares on thunder isle and the rares for each type of race which were the most difficult as clothies…but only a couple took multiple attempts and that was more because of added mob respawns.

 

As part of the dailies you can do achievements without even realizing what you need to actually do to defeat them 🙂  I did mention to hubby that perhaps we needed to kill the bloods?

You also discover achievements that should be done because they are fun and nerve wracking at the same time – yes, 90 seconds on those pillars doesn’t seem long, until you are trying not to fall off!

Or achievements you have no idea how you actually got….Hubby had gotten this a couple of days ago, so I had made a concerted effort to focus…but I swear – I don’t remember throwing any fire down, I was studiously laying down the oil first…I am certainly not going to say no to this though!!

 

I have done most of the LFR’s at this point, but missed a couple of screenies as I didn’t have my addon running, but I only have SoO to go now!!  Even thought it took us about 8 attempts to finally get a Pinnacle of Storms LFR!!  And the second half of Mogu Shan I finally got done as well!  Woot Woot!  Some of the boss fights are fantastic…completely fantastic, others a little bland in LFR, but for the moment I am content with being in a raid again.

Phew!!  There are going to be a couple more posts but for the moment I think I have bored you all enough!!  Such a good time in game since I have been back. Really has been so much fun!

Kill ALL THE THINGS!!!

I cannot stress how much fun I have been having in LFR!!

In the last few days I have done even more of them and I still have more to go.  I was hoping to get to through all of them before reset this week, but couldn’t quite manage it.  I admit to being chuffed everytime I finished one a new one would open.

But in all the fights I have done I have only died once due to my own stupidity.  I think that proves that a small amount of input and understanding of what you are supposed to be doing can help you immensely.  LFR may not be the full blown version but it does show that you can be prepared to do your job well and avoid what needs to be avoided.  I ran without mods except for recount just to see where I was sitting, so no omen and no deadly etc, just watching my surroundings and I confess to feeling so good about using my brain and my head to watch for things.

I enjoyed it anyway 🙂  Others will surely disagree.

The one fight that killed me was the boss who summons the purple cloud of death? I was doing ok until that happened and i was down faster than…well faster than someone getting paid to…!!! The raid wiped and we went again and i survived until the second one happened, but since most of the raid had died in the first one, i was happy to have survived. I died with about 5 other people with me. I am feeling no shame about that death!

I didn’t have a clue on the hydra boss, the strat said something about using ice to kill fire but i never got a buff or debuff…so i just followed the crowd when the head died. I felt a bit ‘meh’ about that one.

I cant remember the other ones at the moment – thats terrible!!! But overall i was happy with the fights and was loving being back with other people killing stuff!

Hubby is really close to levelling so we can start doing crazy isle together!! Woot woot!!

I spent a little bit if time getting my druid to 88, and so will be getting her to 90 next – deciding is she should stay horde or not.

LFR!!! Lookey lookey!!!

o.O shinies!! So many shinies!!!  LFR!!  ooooooooohhhh…was sooo nommy ommy!!

Well not that I actually received much actual loot from the LFR’s I did…but that is not the point!!  I went in and I kicked some big baddy butt 🙂 I think I got one piece of useful/upgradeable gear – that Timeless Isle stuff is the shizz and a few sigils for the Black Prince quest.

I queued for two hours for the second half of Mogushan vaults and gave up after 2 hours, but I queued up for whichever ones would let me in whilst waiting.  So I managed to do the first half of Mogu’shan and then the Dread Approach.

I had done MV before I stopped playing, but it was nice to re-do something I had already done, just to get my feet wet again.

The dread approach was fantastic – I loved the Blade Lord fight and spent the entire fight getting stuck in whirlwinds, so matter how hard I tried.  By the time I actually got through to one end, I hit Ice Lance and the boss was dead..go me!!!  Adding to the team effort there!!  I feel bad for my little ice dude having to run back and forth so much though.
Garalon was ok, a little messy and hard to get done as I was struggling with actually finding the legs…i will need to research a little more because it seems as though he doesn’t always have an attackable leg…all good though – I stayed away from him and survived!

I was reading the LFR strats on tentonhammer whilst doing the trash and their guides are brilliant!!  So quick and easy to read whilst on the go.  Those guides were the only reason I managed to survive every fight because I at least knew what to look out for.

Shame about the second half of MV, but I will get there one day!  My DPS overall was pretty up and down – I was really spiky and given I have only been back a week and am still trying to remember where all my spells are (let’s not tell you that it took me almost 15 minutes to find my portalling spells in my book….) – I think I will ultimately be fine.

So much going on!!

So after multiple friends telling me head to the Timeless Isle as it was a gear festapalooza, I felt determined to do so.

I didn’t realise at the time WTF they were talking about, as I had been there (without paying attention to the name) and had died many many many times, and didn’t really spend any “quality” time there.  I later discovered though on my return trip (after being convinced to try it again) it is goddamn heaven!!!  HEAVEN I tells you!!!

After finally figuring out I should be looking for treasure, I got a little crazy and managed to pick up almost 7 pieces of cloth gear in the first couple of hours.   My girl went from having an ilevel of about 450 to almost 470 very quickly.  Whilst there I managed to steal some Celestial kills and I scored a Tier piece!! Sweet as!!!  I didn’t join the raid group just fired some shots at the mobs to see what happened and how quickly they could kill me  – Fast is the answer to that query.  That crane….every single time!!

So after trolling around I did manage to score this sweet little thing as well:

I had not realised I had managed to do them all.  I do love that Zahyrm the ghost skull is in the cave, that was cool 🙂 I hate that I cannot get to the crate after walking the ropes…Stupidly – I can do the ropes without even coming close to having an issue…but do you think I can – for the life of me – land on the damn platform with the box?!!??!?  GAHHHH!!!   I have iceblocked soooo many damn times now it is not funny!

I have been doing it simply so I can get into some yummy LFR goodness!!  I can’t wait to see some of the raids and experience the content. I know, LFR isn’t the “real” thing, but it is bloody close to it and given my shift work – it will be about the only thing I can commit to!!

I also reacquainted myself with my garden and had fun finding where the dailies were and was shocked to see the area near the main town destroyed!!  Just messed up – I actually really enjoyed those dailies 😦

 

 

First couple of days back in game

WoW!!  (no pun intended)

Can you say crazy?!  Gimme a C, gimme an R, gimme an A…well you get the idea!

I logged on and had an immediate deluge of “OMFGWTFBBQ!?!?” messages – it was kind of nice.  There are a few people on my friends list that are there because of the “Starstruck” phenomenon that I started a while back and maybe after a few days I will summon the courage to message them and see if they remember the crazy fan they had 🙂

I basically spent last night and tonight reacquainting myself with my toons and changing servers and moving gear and emptying bags…I discovered that due to my complete obsession with transmogging I have no bag, bank or void storage space 🙂 This is a problem when wanting to move factions.  Speaking of factions, I scored this puppy with the faction change…bit of a cheat there, but I will take it :p

(Tangent – I wonder if mogging comps are still around – comment with sites if you know – I am still keen I think!)

I also did the one thing I had been one day off finishing when we stopped playing! WOOT!!  I have, as you can imagine, hundreds of pictures already of me riding the gorgeous beast!  More pics to come I am sure!!

Which means, I have been online for all of them except the 8th anniversary.  I have all the achievements since the 4th one….which I think is pretty neat, shame I only missed one, I should have used a free 7 days or something and just logged in for it.  LOL

Sadly all my mods are out of date so I have to update them which means no achievement screenies at the moment, only armory pics 🙂

So after first night in I have a few achievements (which always boosts the love) and I have friends who remember me (which boosts the love to epic proportions) and most importantly I have my Mage back in all her draenai beauty!!!
