Shared Topic: Custom Fit Professions

Professions are fun for some and a necessary evil for others.

Some of us have farming professions. Some of us have crafting professions. Some of us have a little bit of everything! Professions are leveled because they fit our style of play, help us in raiding, allow us to outfit our alts, and make us money.

What professions do you have on your main? Do his/her professions fit their personality? Why did you choose them? If you chose professions based on your character and not on gaming needs, would that change some of their professions they use?

(This can include the secondary professions of archaeology, fishing, cooking, and first aid too!)

Such a long and detailed post this is going to be, as you know, I never do anything by halves Here is my story…

Shared Topic – Rats an Turtles and Pinchy, Oh My!

Oh fishing, let me count the ways you distract me from more important matters

This week the shared topic is causing a plethora of images and discussion from people on both sides of the fence!  It was suggested by Martha.net as follows :

Fishing is an odd sort of minigame in WoW and people I’ve talked to either love it or hate it. So what’s your take on the most grindy of sports?

If you love it: Why? Where’s your favorite spot to go drop a line and veg while waiting for a strike?

If not: Why not? What would make it more fun? Or is there a way to make fishing fun?

And lastly, for those of you with hard-won turtles rats and lobsters ‘o doom—show ‘em off!  (Because I’m proud of my stupid rat and darned if I’m not going to sneak my own screenshot in.)So, my collection is pretty small honestly

My collection is pretty small, to my massive disappointment!  Lets start with the most disappointing of all – my turtle mount…

Gah…and YAY all in one post :)

You know when you have one of those nights where everyone is doing everything wrong…just by small amounts….that was last night….we had to get Lord Ryo and Baleroc down and it took us a long time, I think we wiped of volcano dude 4 times maybe?  We just couldn’t get it together….every attempt something got borked….it was nasty….however…success in the end, it went pretty smoothly actually – sometimes you just a few practice runs I guess….

Baleroc was interesting to say the least, we lost a healer just as we were about to start him, so had to change everything around and get some others doing their shizz, it was difficult, but in the end we also got him on the “last attempt for the night”…we won’t include the second last 5 second attempt when all the DPS stole aggro off the tank in the first .2 seconds….ehhehe  it was a little funny….and I will never give up that secret as to why it happened!  I have to protect my tanking friends

So tonight we will be going to Alyzrazor…..god help us all.  I have to watch a few more videos today and see if I can pick up any extra tips or tricks to help people get through it….but honestly they just need to move and I can’t help with that, especially when I am flying around upstairs….

So onto other things…..I finally!  FINALLY!!!!  managed to get the achievement for all the cooking and fishing dailies in the major cities.  The fishing ones I have had for a while – however the cooking one is a completely different story – I have been going to Darnassus almost daily – I would say 5 out of 7 days a week to get the one quest I needed and FINALLY!!!  it happened!  YAY.

I have done the headless horseman every single day for halloween and gotten 3 sinister squashlings (I have kept them as I am wondering if and when pets become tradable if they will be sellable given they are a halloween event?) and no damn mount!!  I have seen so many other people get them and I am just alone in the world with no mount

My archaeology is just on 400, so I am going to try and max that out today…I have been doing it slowly slowly, but it is a painful profession to level – I never eve want to do it on another toon if I can avoid it!  It’s worse than fishing in my books!

Extra long weekend this weekend, means I can do a few things guilt free Archaeology and druid levelling!!  that’s my plan!

Just a few achievements…

So i did say a few posts ago I would throw up some of my recent achievements as I haven’t had a chance to keep on top of them with everything I have been doing in game.

So I have placed it behind a cut as I have made it all images   Enjoy!!

Just keep getting better

Wow so much has happened in the last couple of days! So much so that I haven’t been able to post!

My ilevel is now sitting on 355 – yay! It has taken a fair bit of poking around in instances that I don’t ever want to do again! ZG – last boss – I just did not understand the fight – wiped us three times, thankfully it was a guild run and they were very patient with me. It was one of those fights that I just couldn’t figure out what I supposed to do and consequently was doing everything I shouldn’t I felt about .5 cms tall….I don’t want to go there ever again!!!

ZA was ok, except the first time I was in there – as a random, the tank decided it was going to be timed but forgot to tell everyone else….consequently he left after 3 minutes because we were still stuffing about near the front

I didn’t realize until I made comment about it later in guild, that the majority of people just assume it is timed…..stupid assumption if you ask me! There is no way I want to do timed runs yet -I am still wearing blue gear FFS!!!! I did score mojo FINALLY when the guild took me through later on, but once again players just amaze me with their arrogance

So our guild leader figured we were now geared enough to go raiding with them…so tonight I got to go to blackwing descent, we did 3 bosses and didn’t get the 4th one done due to time restraints…all good though! I was a little disappointed with my DPS -however it was my first time on those bosses and I was still keeping mostly in line with other dps….

The fights are so confusing and there is so much going on that I am not surprised I was confused…I didn’t die in fire, I didn’t get killed, and I even did the gongs!! So all in all I was super proud of myself!

My tailoring is maxed as well now!! Wooot! It took a bucket load longer than I expected it to; but glad it is done, saving for all the recipes now and will just see how long it takes me to get them all. My first aid is also 500 as well so that is really just a few more bandages away

And….I started a Druid….again…..I never get past level 10, but this one is already level 20! So far so good; but only time will tell – don’t get excited about it yet

Cataclysmically superior

Last night was a killer!!!

My guild was heading in to firelands to give the boss a couple of shots -nothing major but it was good fun

I tagged along as they were short people and although my gear is not all the way ready, they were not expecting anything huge.

I found that I was managing to keep up with some of the dps, well enough for someone with half blue gear anyway! Fully raid buffed I was able to max about 15-16k dps on single target (average was 11k) and I was getting about 25-30k on aoe….I was rather chugged at my efforts   There were of course other dps doing over 20k and I was just in awe…one day maybe….

The boss, shannox, was all over the place and completely nuts definitely need to work out a strat for him beforehand instead of on the fly, but it was fun to see a raid and play with some angry mobs

I had fun though, made me miss the raiding to be honest! I do enjoy working like a team with 9 other people….

Anyway when we finished I discovered I needed 70 more valor points to get my wand updated!!!! One heroic run!!! Which meant I got the superior achievement! Yay! My ilvl is now 352 so I am pretty sure I can raid with that, we will be trying to pug something this weekend I think, it will depend on the time I have available this weekend.

Oh, I also maxed out my cooking yesterday as well   2 down, too many more to go   Tailoring is at 490…I am so close to having that finished then I will just use all my cloth on first aid, then AH   I am not worrying about fishing at the moment, just doing the dailies every day..if i get bored i might focus on it…

All in all, I think in 2 weeks I have done a fair bit to improve my toon, and i do wonder what I a going to do when I have finished doing that…..

Level 85

Yeah baby!!!

 

Now I am working on my professions – I spent over 2k gold last night on herbs for my alchemy and I am miles away from having that leveled.  I really need a herber toon, I have to finish my shammy to 85 so she can herb for me

I have to finish the quests in Twilight highlands, as I am about half way through and it will all be money now, which will be nice to rebuild my coffers.

YAY!!
